You might need to get an older version of NTI Backup Now. I had the same issue. I was using Backup Now 4 which saved everything as .nbf.files. I downloaded a trial version of Backup Now 5.5 and tried to restore the files only to find .nbf files are not compatible with version 5.5!
I sent a rather facetious e-mail to NTI moaning about this issue and they sent me a trial version of version 4. If I were you, I'd do the same. http://www.nticorp.com/en/us/product/backup_now5.asp
All my .nbf files are now restored.

Testimonial: "Thank you very much, u really helped me by brightening my way to contact NTI company but unfortunately I couldn't find this 4 version :)"

This is the link they sent me. It will download a zipped trial version of 4.7.

    Hope it works!

I am using NTI Backup Now EZ 7 on Windows 10. Where is the 'override old backups' option?

In NTI Backup Now EZ 7, the "override old backups" option is not available. NTI Backup Now EZ is designed to create incremental backups, which means it only backs up new or modified files since the last backup.
When you run a backup with NTI Backup Now EZ, it automatically detects and backs up only the changes made to your files, ensuring an efficient backup process. This approach helps save storage space by not duplicating unchanged files.
If you want to create a full backup instead of an incremental one, you can delete the existing backup files manually and perform a new backup. However, keep in mind that this will consume more storage space and increase the backup time.
It's worth noting that the available options and features may vary slightly depending on the version and configuration of NTI Backup Now EZ you are using. If you have a specific requirement or need further assistance, I recommend referring to the product's documentation or contacting NTI's customer support for precise instructions.

Our computer died. I had backed up to Toshiba 1TB external hard drive using NTI backup now EZ. Trying to restore pics, programs etc to new computer. Getting error that says it can not find on on external...

You have an issue - if my understanding is correct ' you are trying to restore your files, programs etc., to a new computer.

Backups are meant to restore the files and windows operating system etc. on the same computer the backup was created from. If you bought a new computer, it cannot do any restoration of the backup file from the hard drive.

if this is not the case, you need to provide more information for anyone to help.

Toshina External Hard Drive backup files in

Which program did you create the backup with? You'll need to install a copy of that software on your new computer. Then you will let the software find the backup and restore it. This will only work if you used a file backup. Many backup programs do not restore to systems with different hardware (different CPU, hard drive, OS, etc.).

However, I don't know which software uses *. PFT, pfi or pfp extensions. PBF is the format for one of the older Paragon Backup software versions. Acronis uses *.TIB . For a list of many of the software extensions used for backups, see https://www.file-extensions.org/filetype/extension/name/backup-files .

Canvio drives used to include NTI BackupNow EZ software. However, I believe that NTI backups use BJF or NTI extensions. The installer for that is here: http://support.toshiba.com/sscontent?contentId=3044104 . To check for other software for your external drive, try looking up your drive at http://support.toshiba.com/support/home . The available drivers and software should be listed. Alternatively, check if the backup software installer is still on the external drive.

I hope this helps.
