  1. simply unplug the router and the modem from their power source
  2. plug the power cable into the modem
  3. wait for the lights to stop coming on, until you see solid power and internet connectivity LED and an intermittently blinking activity light.
  4. now plug the power to the router and allow it to boot all the way up as well.
  5. no your internet should be workin. (the ethernet cable should go from the LAN port on the modem to the Internet port on the rear of the router, and any desktops should be connected beginning with the LAN 1 port and advancing as required)

Is it possible to connect a standard DSL modem - without Wi-Fi (with 1 Ethernet port) and a DSL modem - Wi-Fi (with 4 Ethernet port) to broadcast Wi-Fi singles

Does the non wifi modem give out DHCP addresses?
Can the wifi modem be set up to receive it's IP address from DHCP?
If the answer to both these questions is Yes then that's what to do as a first step. Make sure the wifi modem DHCP service is disabled as it must NOT give out DHCP addresses.
Connect the ethernet port of the non wifi modem to one of the LAN ports of the wifi modem and NOT the DSL/WAN port. The wifi modem is not participating in any DSL connectivity at all so it's DSL light will remain off. The non wifi modem is doing the DSL duty so it's DSL light should be correctly illuminated.

Connect motorola modemsbSB6121 to Belink N600 wireless router with out losing internet signal

Step one turn on PC directly connected to ModemsbSB6121 without Wi FI router being involved.
Step two go to Command prompt type in ipconfig (press enter)
Step three note IP address of default gateway and ip address issued to P.C.
Step four type in default gateway address into browser and log into Modem.
Step five look for DHCP Server and allocate IP addresses from at least 50 for example 192.168.0.50 starting ip lease ending ip lease 192.168.0.254
Step six connect Wi Router to P.C. via ethernet cable only - remove ModemSB6121
Step Seven shutdown and restart p.c
Step Eight go to Command prompt type in ipconfig (press enter)
Step Nine note IP address of default gateway and ip address issued to P.C.
Step Ten type in default gateway address into browser and log into Wi Fi Router
Step Eleven Change IP address on Router to 2 as example 192.168.0.2. (it has to match in that modem device would have been 192,168.0.1)
(if it was 10.0.0.1 make wi fi 10.0.0.2 make sure subnet mask is the same like 255.255.255.0)
Step twelve Change DHCP Server to off
Step Thirteen may need to set default gateway to MODEM IP address for example 192.168.0.1
Step Fourteen plug modem router into Wi Fi router may need to plug into WAN port on WI FI router .
Step Fifteen shutdown and Restart Computer
Step Sixteen go to Command prompt type in ipconfig (press enter)
Step Seventeen type in PING 192.168.0.1 (if this is modem IP address and default gateway IP addess)
All this above is to avoid IP address conflicts or mismatching
Subnet mask should be 255.255.255.0
either it uses 192.168.0.1 or it uses 10.0.0.1 make sure Wi FI router is set to different address to Modem Router.
I suspect either a clash occurs or your P.C gets a different IP range from ther WI FI DHCP server.
Happy troubleshooting !

Hi. I have a Motorola SB 6121 DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem. When I have a direct connectivity with this modem to the laptop with an ethernet, it works fine. But when I connect it to the Linksys wireless router,...

what is the ip address of the cable modem ?
when connected directly to the modem can you do ipconfig in dos command window and find out the gateway ip address listed.
This has to be the gateway ip address in the wi fi router.
turn of DCHP server in the WI FI router and make its ip address one more than the cable modem ip address.
make sure subnet mask is the same in both devices
Make sure DHCP server in Modem has leases above 20 to allow other devices to use 1 - 19 .
eg 10.0.0.1 or 192.168.0.1 for cable modem ip address internally.
make wi fi router 10.0.0.2 or 192.168.0.2 depends on the ip address of modem ?
Gateway address of 10.0.0.1 or 192.168.0.1 depends on the ip address of modem ?
dhcp server leases from 10.0.0.21 to 10.0.0.254 depends on ip address of modem ?

How to put wifi in that phone??

Thanks for visiting FixYa!

The Mototola Droid Cell Phone has WLAN from the factory. That is, it has Wi-Fi 802.11b,g. So, you don't need to install it. Wi-Fi is already in the phone.

Here is a link to your owner's manual in case you don't have one handy. http://www.motorola.com/staticfiles/Support/US-EN/Mobile%20Phones/DROID-by-Motorola/US-EN/Documents/Static-Files/DROID_UG_Verizon_68000202474a.pdf

To connect to Wi-Fi see page 4 of your user guide for instructions.

Wi-Fi connect

To connect to an available Wi-Fi router, touch Menu Key (bottom of the phone and just left of the center of the phone) > Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi settings. (And turn Wi-Fi on.)

I have a unlocked Cliq and it will not connect to or see WIFI

Press the menu key(4squares looking button),tap settings, then tap wireless controls, tap wi-fi settings, when you turn ON wi-fi on this screen your phone automatically scans for open wi-fi networks. If its a locked network or your own home network you then just need to type in the WEP key from your modem.

I need to connect to my wi fi printer but there isnt ane wep address on the modem could i get one

The WEP address will not be created from your SurfBoard modem. This is something a router will do for you. The modem simply gives you a direct connection to the pipe (web).

Do you have a router?
