Network controller driver

us.acer.com go to service, driver download, select your model, under that above the driver list, change OS from Vista to XP Pro x32, and download the LAN driver. That is your ethernet controller drivers. Since ethernet is your network controller, I'm assuming you need your wireless NIC controller aswell, it will be listed under Wireless LAN. If you don't know/remember the make, download all of them and try each one til one works.

Ethernet controller not found

Hi,
Check Toshiba website for chipset drivers as you will probably find that the ethernet controller software is embedded in the chipset driver file.
Install the chipset driver and then check your ethernet card once more.
Let me know if this solves your problem or not.

Lan and wireless driver for toshiba a135-s2246

Unfortunately, the Toshiba Satelite A135-S2246 was never designed to run XP, only Vista. Which is why you can't find any drivers for XP. The nearest you can get is to find a laptop running XP SP2 that is using the same LAN (ethernet controller) and WLAN (wireless ethernet controller), and see if they will work.

Here are the drivers I found for XP (please check which one's you are trying to install):

Atheros WiFi card driver:
http://www.wireless-driver.com/download/atheros/2007-7-23/Atheros-ar5bxb6-AR5424-mini-PCI-E-Wireless-Card-Driver-Download.htm

Intel WiFi card driver:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx
You will need to search for the card that you have.

LAN (ethernet controller):
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=6&PFid=6&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false#1
You can pick third or fourth from top depending on your preference.

Please remember that Toshiba, Microsoft, Atheros, Realtek, Intel and especially myself accept no responsibilty for what may, or may not happen when installing drivers not specifically designed for your system. All that said, I hope it works for you.

Driver problem after reformatting

Be sure to install, at least sp2 on XP, many driver issues are resolved

If you have sp2 or sp3, I would suggest starting with your chipset driver and hopefully the rest will be able to install.

Satellite a65 problem with atheros wireless driver after XP Pro SP2 installed

Hi,

Perhaps what is required is to install the drivers separately and use those from the manufacturer, Toshiba. Incidentally, there are 18 versions of a Satellite A65, which one is yours pls? (Versions start from S1062...S1762).

Pls start here and select Portables, Satellite, and A65 + Version, then click on "Show Results" button.

Alternately, you may want to jumpstart and try this for the RTL8139 and/or this for the Atheros WiFi. Both are for Windows XP.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

PCI device drivers for Toshiba Satellite A100

Here's a link to Toshiba's driver download site. You'll need to choose the exact A100 model (there are several), then choose XP sp2 from the drop down on the next page, and it will give you the list of drivers for your machine.

Wher do i get the driver?

Network Driver 10/100 (ethernet)
Intel Chipset Driver (this one should put the correct driver in for a few things on the motherboard)

The SM bus controller is your USB2.0 controller, the Intel driver should fix this one as long as you have SP2 installed (as you do). The PCI device could be anything, but check it after you install the chipset driver

This is another link to the page these drivers are from. It may not have your model beside it in the list, but they are the same accross multiple models.
