Yes, You will need a digital decoder box. The tuner in the Samsung 940MW TV does not decode digital signals. The digital input that you are seeing is for the DVI video input on the back that you use when you connect the unit to a DVI port on a computer. Any of the digital decoder boxes from Radio Shack, Walmart or Best Buy type stores will work just fine.

Sounds like system software needs to be replaced... re-installed. It probably got corrupted somehow since it is not rebooting properly. Use the original discs that came with the computer. Thnx

Try to boot the system with safe mode and check whether you are getting display. if yes, need to download latest driver for display card. if No, then check the monitor cable was properly connected or monitor may faulty. Replace/repair the same will solve your problem.

Also check the DPI and resolution configured in display properties.

the backlight / inverter needs replacing

I have two of these, both of which were just dead. The back snaps off after the screws are removed and the power supply board is the small one with heat sinks and a number of vertically mounted electrolytic capacitors (cylindrical, maybe 1/2 inch in diameter, dark plastic covering, aluminum showing at the top). Some of the capacitors were bulged at the top which is always a bad sign. I decided to replace all of the capacitors in the area between the two heat sinks (six of them). The total cost from Digi-Key Electronics was under $9.00 including shipping.

Tak a bright flashlight and put it close to the screen to see if you can see a picture playing when you look into the screen with a flashlight when the tv is powerd up. Let me know if the picture is there.

I have had the same problem. Only differance is that I run a freeview box though my 940 mw. I thought it was that playing up. Also I all the keys are locked on the unit itself. The remote works everything but when I press any buttons on the monitor you get a 'keys locked info' up on screen. Its doing my head in!!!
