When i open the handy cam i cant see what i am taken because the screen is black

Hi penalvermary,

LCD problem..check the battery and the power that comes on it..maybe lack of power inside LCD..
There is also a contact from Camcorder to LCD..if you can check it the better.

Hi,
It is known problem of ccd imager chip failure in DSC-T1 camera, ccd imager chip will be replace to get correct live view in camera mode to take fresh pictures.
Local camera repair shop will do this job because camera will take apart, let me know to provide you part number info if you are handy with electronics stuff repair and willing to replace ccd imager chip.

No picture on the back screen

this means that the plug from the lcd is out ..and i need s to be open and put it back ..probably a shock ( mechanical) it is to blame ...cause if you remove batteries it should be reset itself to defaults and have preview picture...also ..with that buton on the back moved to the right should bring the picture view on ..to see the last pic taken or the picture in teh memory ..if the display os black most af the time it means that it has an imperfect contact but is still functional and only the ribon that it is plugged on it and makes communication with the unit its to blame ...if you are handy you may try to open it ..but I advice just to get help cause its tricky ...and sensitive ...

My i85 camera's lcd no longer displays what you are looking at. Just a black screen. All the menu items are there and working. The battery is charged. The power button is working as well as the lens open, but no image is available just a black screen. When I I try to take pic is showed very low light but doen't show image of pic taken when I check. Cant see anything when cam on to take pics screen stays black ?

With the power off, hold the camera in your palm and smack the front of the camera on your leg or arm. You might have to smack it a few time to get it to work. It has to do with the camera CDD lense (shuttle) being stuck. By smacking it around, it will free up the lense. Being extra gentle with it though. It worked for me. Hope this help.

Black Screen

camera ccd is / has failed - also possible , lens iris is stuck closed ( on monitor , can see very faint snow noise against black background - check if iris opens , by shining penlight into lens );
