I have been through the audio settings on both my ps3 and the tv and tried every combination and nothing gives me sound. i have even tried all the HDMI sockets on the tv and still no sound. when i plug the ps3 into the tv using the red white and yellow AV cables i get low def picture and sound. what could be wrong please help me. Maybe your TV is not made for HD from the Sony Console. Try calling Sony Customer support, then your TV's brand Customer support. That will tell you if your TV Model allows the HD from the PS3. Remember though, PS3 Uses Blu-Ray. So you need Blu-Ray for your TV. Hope this helped.

i have a ps3, samsung hdtv and am using a hdmi cable. the setup has worked fine for a year now. Last night i switched on my ps3 and i have picture but no sound, what gives? Could it be my hdmi cable? Any help would be appreciated.
BTW i tried messing with the sound options.
PS3 worked fine before today, now all of a sudden no sound on games or movies, using HDMI cable on samsung tv, did the cable die?
Sony BDP-s300 was working fine with HDMI for 5 months. All of a sudden no sound. switch cables, ports on receiver - nothing. Switch to coax for sound and wrked fine for 2 weeks. now - no sound again. Now cannot get sound from HDMI, Coax or optical. tried resetting audio options, switching cables, going thu receiver or staight to TV - nothing.
when i plug my hdmi cord from the ps3 to the tv i get sound for movies but not the games
I have the same problem, tried every hdmi jack on my tv, and got new hdmi cables but still no sound for anything!!
