What tests have you run to confirm that you have fuel and spark? Please explain what you saw exactly. Did you use a fuel pressure tester to confirm fuel pressure ok? There are two fuel pumps in your car. A high pressure fuel pump inside the tank and a low pressure fuel pump inline. The spark needs to be blue/white, strong and constant with the revolutions. There are several mechanical and electrical malfunction possibilities. Are you looking for parts that might help solve your problem or are you looking for diagnostic procedures? Please write back and let me know what you know. I'll do my best to help. Good Luck.
Your etm which is known as a throttle body is bad the contacts inside the unit are worn out and this part is replaceable without going to the dealer for reprogramming it's a Bosch ETM u can find them on eBay stay away from the used units unless u have money to burn .regards Chris
You will have to check for a spark at the spark plugs. Put a known good plug into one of the spark leads and turn the engine over. You should have a good spark every revolution or so. If not, then either the ignition module or coil or crankshaft position sensor has failed. Of course, check all fuses first if no spark. If you have a good spark, and the bike was not lying up un-used (gas gone off) then I have come across worn cam chains jumping over the cam sprockets and upsetting engine timing. Rare enough and only in poorly maintained bikes. Remember, an engine needs three things, gas, compression and spark. All in the right order of course (engine timing).
I assume that the spark plug are good and the gas line is clear. Try to adjust the gas line supply and default engine startup revolution settings try it full half and minimum back and forth it works. Other gen sets requires a mix of oil with its gas, please do it when it is required with exact proportion. Hope this helps. Goodluck.
Well, There is nothing like a good repair shop to take care of a
problem. I would recommend looking at the diagrams at a site like
www.arcolawn.com and consider the carburetor rebuild kit fuel line and the primer. Inspect the parts on the machine and order replacments right at
the web site.
Good luck
No spark, lets start with the easiest, sure the plug is good? Not wet? With a clean dry plug still no spark, disconnect the kill switch, eigther at the ignition unit or at the switch itself (on the handle). If still no spark the ignition unit is bad. These are solid state they work or they don't. Hope this helps.
no spark at plug sends you back to magnita/transformer. ohm it out to see if it has resistance. it should read low resistance.
good luck and have a great day please rate bama46, thanks
I know this sounds crazy and the only reason I am giving this as a solution is because it happened to me. Even though the electrical system has enough power to turn the engine, it does not have enough power to turn the engine and power to spark. Correct any poor connections at the battery terminals, etc. Try jump starting the bike. If it works, you know the problem is a weak battery and/or a poor connection.
Please try to take out the battery and power on using the ac adapter alone. If it works, it is okay to put the battery back in. Leave battery in for a few minutes then try to restart using the battery alone. Hope this helps. Thank you.
