Hi there My Sansui TV screen started showing thin white horizontal lines across the top of the screen. All of a sudden the screen starts condensing the picture into fine lines across the middle of the screen - sound is fine, but the picture is totally messed up. Thanks Brenda

Check and replace all the electrolytic capacitors at its vertical output section circuit. There will be five or 6 of them. Replace all.

The problem is vertical failure. Vertical output section to your TV ahs the fault. You ahve to check the vertcial output circuit for any component failure or loose solderings.

vertical line = bad horizontal output transistior
horizontal line = bad vertical output transistor

replace vertical out put ic and related capacitors
please refer to a qualified tv personal to check tv

Hi I had the same problem. Broken white lines across the top of the screen. This is called overscan. You need to go into the Setup menu, other settings. 16:9 overscan needs to be on. Hope this helps.It solved our problem.

1. Solder the vertical ic

2. vertical ic supply capacitor problen.

3. dry points in neck board.

Remove dry solder at Vertical IC if problem not solves replace VERTICAL IC and pf104

sounds like you have a vertical sweep problem. Where the fault lies cpuld be the vertical output IC the verticle b+ feed, could be the capacitors in the vertical circuit?? Your gonna need to troubleshoot thr vrtical circuit if your not a tech thin my advise is to take the set to a pro for sn est. Good Luck
