SOURCE: no responce from a harmony 550 remote

First I would remove the battery for 10 min then replace. If that did not help, I would hook the harmony back up to your computer and update the remote. If that does not fix the problem then I would down load the firmware and then update your remote. Even if your current firmware is up to I would still download and update the firmware.
Hope this helps.

Changed battery and trying to get out of same mode

You should just be able to press the "Devices" button and select the device of your choice.
You may have to reprogram the remote.
To do this, plug your remote into your computer with the USB cable, go to www.logitech.com/myharmony , sign into your account, identify your remote, delete existing device(s) input, and reprogram from scratch (if you remember, this doesn't take long).
But before you do, check the user manual located at http://images.harmonyremote.com/EasyZapper/Downloads/UserManual/550/enu/550_UserManual.pdf
and see if there's a handier way to bring things around to the way you want.

Hope this helps.

2. Connect your remote to the computer.

3. Launch the Harmony Remote Software, and log in.

4. Click "Downloads" at the top and click "Firmware".
