Clothing tangled underneath infusor on GE washer Model WHRE5550HWW. How do I remove the infusor to untangle clothes underneath?

I have the same problem, seems as if this washer always tangles the clothes, there is really no solution.

If the screw holding the infusor to the shank is not broken, more than likely the shaft broke. That is what happened to mine. The part is like 339 bucks and you need to tear it apart to install it. Sorry.

unplug the power. open the top of the washer to expose the tub. Hold on to the top layer of clothing and rotate the tub by hand in the direction that untangles the clothes.

The agitator just snaps onto the drive block, you gotta grab it by the neck and get mean with it.

try a 10mm socket or 7/16 socket

hold agitator and unscrew very top all should pull off and cloth can be removed

possibly the belt has come off - have you removed the clothing jam?

You should be able to unscrew the top cap of the agitator ( may be left hand thread ) and lift off the agitator once the cap is off... They sometimes stick so you may have to muscle it to remove that cap..once lifted off..you should be able to untangle the string that is caught..
