I have a GE WPRE6150K1WT top load HE washer. I replaced a leaking ( at the hot solenoid) fill valve with a p/n WH12X1075 fill valve and the washer does not fill with hot or cold water now. I'm getting 121v at the respective solenoid when the washer calls for water, but no water gets past the valve. Is this the correct valve ? If so , what's the problem? Mark

If the Fill light is flashing or H2O SUPPLY is scrolling on the display (2015 and newer models): the washer will initiate a 3 or 4 minute lock-out period (depending on model). The washer controls won't respond or change during this time. After 3 or 4 minutes, you can choose your settings and press Start. Unplugging the washer will start the 3 or 4 minute lock-out period again.
please the causes and remedies: God bless you f your Top Load Washer Has No Water Entering Check The Following
Water Inlet Valve
First check the hoses that connect to the water inlet valve. Remove
these completely there should be a screen in at least one end and maybe
both ends. Clean these screens. Next check the back of the water inlet
valve screens and remove and clean. If cleaning these out does not
correct the problem you will need to check to make sure you have power
going to the water inlet valve. Most top loaders will have 120 volts
going to the valve. Check each solenoid on the valve. You will need to
have the washer on and turned to a fill cycle when checking. If you have
power and still no water replace the water inlet valve. No power replace the control.
Control / Timer
This is less likely the problem but can fail. If you have no power going
to the water inlet valve when selecting a fill cycle the timer/ control
has failed and you will need to replace the timer.
This model is a direct drive with only one pump, the drain pump. If the drain pump leaks, which is a common problem on these models, it will leak no matter what temperature wash is selected! If you a have a leak on cold, it will probably also leak on warm wash. Your problem is your solenoid operated fill valve on the cold side. Only one fill hose comes off of this combination fill valve to your fill plenum at the top back of your tub. So if it leaks on the cold, but not hot, check for a crack in the plastic housing of the valve on the cold half. The valve is located on the inside back of the machine on top right when looking at the front of the machine. They are fairly inexpensive and easy to replace.
Turn off the
water valves which supply the water to washer hoses.Switch the hot and cold water supply hoses
and tighten. Turn the water valves back on and try to run a wash cycle using
cold. If hot water only is entering the wash tub the water supply is ok. If
this is the case you can unplug the washer and turn off the water valves. Remove
the washer back cover and follow the water connection for the hot water. The
water solenoid valve will have two electrical wires connected
to it. Interchange the hot water solenoid wires with the cold water solenoid connection.
Connect the water supply hoses hot to hot and cold to cold then plug the unit then
test the washer on the cold wash. If the problem persists it could be a water
hose restriction or the timer circuit could be defective. If you have hot water
at the normal pressure purchase a new hot water solenoid valve. With the electrical cord unplugged be sure to
restore the correct wire connections on the hot and cold water solenoid. To
replace the hot water solenoid remove the hose clamp and hose to replace the
old valve. Connect the unit to the water and electrical outlet. Turn on the
water and test the unit for leaks being careful not to touch any electrical and
moving parts. If all checks ok and the correct temperature work, unplug the unit
and reassemble.
Try this. With the wash tub empty, start to fill with water. Without turning washer off, unplug the washer from wall.
If water filling stops (hot and cold), then you are looking at a bad timer assembly. Replacement isn't that hard, parts can be difficult to find though.
If water continues to fill, your valve body / solenoid assembly is likely full of lime-scale. Easily replaced.
There is a solenoid control valve on all washing machines, located where the water hoses enter the machine. If you have a rubber mallet, you can whack the machine gently with the mallet. If the problem is resolved, it was just a stuck valve. If not, then you likely will need to replace the whole solenoid valve control. Typically there are controls for each water supply.
It sounds like you have a bad fill valve assembly. Normally the valve opens and closes by an electrically activated solenoid which is usually controlled by a pressure switch. However...IF the diaphragm that closes on the valve is broken, has a hole in it, cannot close all the way due to an obstruction, or if your water pressure is too low, the valve will remain open and water will leak by. Since you didn't mention any problems with the hot water side of the valve, I would suspect that water pressure probably isn't a problem. Turn the water off and remove the hoses to the fill valve on the back of the washer. Inspect the cold water side for any obstructions and/or check for any damage to the valve itself. If you don't find anything obvious, replacing the fill valve will probably correct your problem. I hope this helps.
