How long does it stay in the wash cycle? Indefinitely? Does the display continuously show "WASH"?. If it stays in the wash cycle indefinitely (i.e. continuously shows "WASH" for significantly beyond approx. 3 minutes), it's probably a control board malfunction. If it continues to wash after the "WASH" indicator goes out, it could be a shorted wash motor relay on the relay board or a fauly control board.

If the internal rinse water booster heater doesn't reach it's programmed setpoint temperature in time, the dishwasher will run an extended wash cycle to give the booster heater more time to finish heating the rinse water. If this is what's happening, the wash cycle would last approximately 3 minutes, then it would rinse regardless of whether the booster heater has finished heating or not.

The booster temperature thermistor may be bad, giving a false booster temperature reading, causing an extended wash cycle as described above. The booster heater elements or contactor may be bad, preventing the booster heater from heating and reaching proper temperature, also causing the same extended wash cycle to give the booster more time to heat.

.Float Switch

The float switch may be hung up and this can cause the dishwasher to be stuck in a cycle.

If your dishwasher gets stuck in a cycle first try shutting off the breaker for at least 5 minutes if this does not correct the problem you will need to replace the timer /electronic control 10_17_2012_1_06_02_pm.jpg

Water sloshes out the bottom of the door to my Hobart LXiH dishwasher when it's running.

this is usually a problem with the float.

at the bottom there is a small round plastic part that moves up and down. When it is up, the washer knows that it is full. when it is down, the washer knows that it is empty.

yours is probably stuck in the down position.

usually I find that this is because the float is full of grease and junk.

mostly they are of the air-trap variety. they are open on the bottom and trap a bubble of air underneath them. If the float is full of grease, then it won't trap enough air to float. reach under with your finger and scoop out any grease.

if you don't see any grease, or it isn't open underneath, check for holes that migh be letting air out, or water in.

if it's broken, you can lift it manually (and wedge something under it) and that will at least pump it out so you can fix the float.

Don't run it very long in that condition or you will have other problems, but you can run it until it drains out.

P1 error code on LX30 Hobart

This is a bad sump temperature probe. The unit will function, but will not heat nor display the wash water temperature.

This is a very easy fix. Order Hobart part number 328994 from your nearest Hobart parts dept.

Turn off and drain the unit. Kill the power to the unit at the circuit breaker. Remove the lower front cover. Locate the screw-in temperature probe at the front of the sump. Unplug the sensor from the wiring harness, remove with a 7/16" open end wrench. Screw in the new probe, using teflon tape of the threads, snuggly. It does not need to be super tight. Plug it into the harness, reinstall the front cover, turn the breaker back on, and start up the unit.

TURN THE BREAKER OFF AS EVEN WITH THE UNIT "OFF" THERE WILL BE 120 VOLTS PRESENT AT THE SUMP HEATER (yellow wires) DUE TO ONLY ONE LEG OF POWER BEING SWITCHED OFF!

The hobart lxih is stuck in delime.

To reset or clear delime message, on control board there are 3 buttons. from power off, drawer open, manget on door switch, door closed, hold PROG on board and press the ON key on keyboard. pressing select moves to next poption, up arrow increases setting. step through select until you see delime, settings for LXi are de for disabled, and 1 through 65= x100 cycles. rg if set at 5, after 500 cycles the message apears. To keep the settings and clear the message a delime sequence needs to be run precisely as described.

DO NOT MIX DELIME ACID, RINSE AGENTS OR OTHER ACID WITH BLEACH PRODUCTS, OR HAZAEDOUS GASES WILL FORM.

With machine off, remove rack , close door, press and hold wash/delime key and press ON. Delime will be lit on display, release wash/delime key, and let machine fill. you should then see ADD and DELIME on the display, open the door and add the delime agent following supplier's instructions precisely. close the door, press wash, delime will flash. After delime is complete power is turned off. Inspect the machine and repeat if necessary.
DO NOT LEAVE THE ACID IN ANY LONGER THAN RECOMMEDED.
