Problem with the Bosch HME9760 / HME9750 800 Watts Microwave Oven Small pop when i went to open door, and now looks dead. 13amp main fuse all ok, so i assume its an internal thermal fuse or something worse. Where is the thermal cutout/fuse on this model ?? Is it 8 or 10amp ??

Dead appliance, power on wall outlet.

YOUR SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT!

Attempt this only if you are competent.

If your appliance has absolutely no functions at all, remove it from the mains supply, remove the case and see where the mains lead goes in to the appliance and follow the cable until you find the main fuse.
ONLY USE THE SAME TYPE AND RATING OF FUSE TO REPLACE IT.
The usual cause of this fuse failure is the door switches are contaminated or sticking. Check the door switches before putting power back on to the appliance.
Hope this helps.

I have taken of case and traced mains lead, but do not see any fuses. The mains leads go to a transformer/capacitor and then go 2 seperate ways into small connectors (prt no 03 2539 limiter temperture). I have photo's of these and the cables if i can send/email them somewhere.

I have searched and searched but am unable to find a service manual for your microwave. There must be an internal fuse link as someone could cut the 13A plug off and hard wire it to a ring main.
The cause will be either a jammed door interlock switch or the transformer.
It is so annoying when the simplest of equipment is out of our reach!
Maybe the fuse is built into the transformer as most transformers in HI FI and power supplies use an internal fuse.
Try relisting your query as I can go no further at the moment.
    Good luck with the repair.

Bosch HME97 stopped working

Did you check the original fuse for continuity? Do so with an ohm meter if not. Does the display light up? If you take off the cover & look at the control board do you see anything burnt or, smell burn? If so, it will cost about as much for a control panel as it would for a new microwave.

Microwave oven dead

Check the fuse in the microwave it is probably open, unplug and remove the top, follow the leads from the keyboard to the circuit board, look for a silver rectangular capacitor, short out the two pins to remove any high voltage, now look for a small fuse that is clipped in, pop it out and check if open, replace with same current rating. The door switches in most cases cause the fuse to blow, normally one switch is defective.

When i opened the microwave door the power went off. Main fuse seems to be ok

if you close the door, hit start, and it continues to work, then it's doing what it's supposed to do! safety feature!
if it 'pops' a breaker, then there may be a problem with the 'safety interlock' switch, which is engaged when you close the door! possibly cause an electrical "short' when you open it. then you need to get switch replaced!
contact a qualified repair person, or check if your warranty is still covered, and have retailer, or manufacturer rep. fix it! if it is a switch problem it may cost less to replace the microwave!! do the math!
good luck!
