IBM Think Pad T22 auto -shut down a few minutes

a OLD THINK PAD, NOT A PC NOR SERVER OR workstation.
what is it doing?
not told
if running your website on it , NO , if not yes.

no OS told at all. sure XP
XP day 1 new

click start shut down
if fails hold power button for 10 second and release.
your manual covers all this, lost it, it is free on the web .

if fails ask here IBM sold the line to lenovo

its either a software problem or a hardware problem

normally over heating shuts down older style laptops

try using a lap top cooling pad

sometimes its a faulty hard drive

Try reinstalling XP windows again

When old IBM Think Pads fail to boot it is usually because the CMOS battery has worn out. It is very easy and inexpensive to replace. Youtube has numerous videos showing how to replace it e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZI-8Q2j-zQ

unplug the AC cord,
shut down the PC ,and then removed the battery for a few minutes

reinstall the OS, but first back up you files. you can remove the HDD located at the bottom of the Laptop. buy a cheap 2.5 inch usb to ide/sata enclosure and place your hdd on it. use a PC to transfer your files. then format the HDD. reinstall the HDD to your laptop and install the OS.

in bios setup usually under security you can remove user passwords.
you get into safemode for 2000 and in control panel and remove it form users administrator account
If your not interested in to os systems then you can format

i think your hard disk had be dsectors
try to boot your system with win xp bootable disk
then go to trecovery console
then run
chkdsk /r
comamnd at recovery console
followthe instruction

Check your laptop CPU fan is running if no replace it. Problem is because of over heating....

Error 00174 is a configuration related indicating the bios/cmos settings are incorrect. This usually occurs when the cmos battery is in need of replacement.

Get that battery replaced.
