That input is called DVI digital video interface it is only for video. there should be some red and white composite input jacks for the audio near the DVI connector. you will need to hookup the red and white cables from the tv to the cable box or dvd player or whatver you are using. good luck

I would be surprised if the model listed here has a HDMI input--it should only have a single component HD input marked as DTV.

I need to know how to switch the TV to 1080. I'm trying to use a HD box

Connect you hd cable box to the hdmi input. If you don't have an hdmi input and have a DTV input you can get an HDMI to DTV adaptor. I hope this helps.

This set may have a DTV cable. You probably have an HDMI cable on your box. You can get a DTV to HDMI adaptor.

Watch movies from computer to tv

look on the back or sides of the unit. it should have a hdmi cable hookup, it will look like a monitor input, then you have to make sure you set the tv input to that. then you have to set your laptop to add another monitor to be able to use it.

Is a blu-ray player compatible with a rear projection tv phillip?

You need to use an HDMI connection from blu-ray player to the television. If your tv does not have an HDMI input the tv is probably to old and will not accept 1080P. If it does have an HDMI connection it should display a minimum of 1080i.
