I have had the tv for abot 3 years and most of the time it will only sit on stand by off mode. how do I get it to turn on?
Hi Peeps, two bits of good news, firstly its a quick fix, theres a couple of chips on the inverter board need changing and secondly regardless of how long your warranty is you are covered up to 2 years on any electrical item, call tescos and ask for an out of warranty repair application and quote them the sale of goods act, i did and got 2 thirds of my money back. after i called the tv repair man i was left with £100 over and a working tv, do it peeps its well worth it.
any idea which chips on the inverter board?
My tv the light goes blue but wont connect to my xbox ive tried to unplug it and try again but it still wont work
My Technika t.v. is 12 years old.The red light comes on but that's it,no picture or anything. Do u think its died?

Hi there, I have the same problem, my tv won't come off standby but I don't have the receipt to take it back to Tesco. How much would it be to fix it?
Mines same was watching it then it turned off now wont come out of standby, we bought it last sept so warantee ran out last month typical
Hi, hope this helps, if like me you are not sure about which resistors or capacitors, thyristors etc the list is endless, nine times out of ten it is whats called the power board in the back of your tv, if you take the back off the TV, and follow the power cable in, that connects to the power board, replace this and the problem should be solved. You can usually get the pcb board number off the board somewhere, then type into ebay or ask a tv repair shop if they can get hold of this board for you. Watch static when you open the tv i.e touch a tap or something earthed so you dont put static near your board as this could cause other problems. Anyway whatever you decide to do good luck sounds like a common fault. Mine is about 4 years old and I left it on standby came back turned it on and it just started flashing blue and nothing else.

the light goes from light blue to dark blue and then nothing happens
i bought a technika 42" a few months ago and last night it just switched itself off. it goes to standby and that's it. I tried the leave it switched off thing over night but still no go. i turn on it starts up for half a second then straight back to standby, any suggestions ?

my technica 37 lcd has just gone wrong wk afteer warranty runs out keeps switching itself off and when i switch it bk on it flickers then switches itself back off....is it repairable
OK MINE IS A TECHNIKA 27 INCH I TRY TO TURN ON MY TV I WAIT 5 SECONDS FOR THE LIGHT TO GO GREEN AND SOMETIMES IT WORKS BUT WHEN ITS GETS SWITCHES OF BUY THE WALL IT WONT WORK THEN I HAVE TO WAIT 2 DAYS FOR THE TV TO WARM UP.
