You need to recalibrate. Try pushing B, A, Hint, and Home when you turn it on. Do not have a cartridge in the player or it will think it is a regular Leapster. Once it says calibrate screen it will say to press A, then wait until a target appears in the upper left hand corner, touch it and you should hear a sound, then a new target appears in the lower left hand, repeat actions, then lower right hand screen, and finally the upper right hand screen. If it stops at any time and doesn't get more arrows, try it again or turn it off and see if the pen works. It may take a few tries to get it to recalibrate correctly.

My HP tablet seems to have a screen lock or has frozen somehow. When I touch the icons nothing happens and also I can not shut it down as the on/off button wont work either

Hi!

On the edge of your HP tablet there are some buttons. Right between the TAB button and the ESC button there is the Windows Security Button marked with a little key picture. You can press the button with a pen tip or other small object (e.g. paperclip end). Pressing this button is similar to entering CTRL+ALT+DEL in a PC. It will display a security screen allowing you to choose between more options, including shutdown the Tablet in order to restart it again.

Hope it helped.

When I turn the leapster2 on in comes on fine. When it asks me to type in a name the touch screen pen isn't working. Nothing happens!

we have had this problem with our Leapster2 for a while. Found this solution this morning and it now works great! www.ehow.com

Callibration
  • If you touch your stylus pen to the screen of your Leapster2 and it does not respond, your unit needs to be calibrated. To do this, make sure no game cartridge is in the unit. Turn the unit on while you are holding down the "Hint" or "?" button. Keep holding the button down until the Leapster2 menu appears. You will need to turn off the unit and repeat these steps if you do not see the menu. When the menu comes onto the screen, press the "A" button and use the stylus pen to touch each of the crosshairs as they appear. When you are done, your unit should be properly calibrated.

My Leapster 2 comes on, shows the name on screen & ask to touch my name w/ the pen; however when I touch the name, nothing happens. It keeps asking to touch a name or "guest".

I had the same problem and here is the answer I found at leapfrog.com which fixed my daughter’s disney princess leapster 2’s problem. Good luck!
If your Leapster2 does not respond to the stylus pen, it needs to be calibrated. Calibrating the Leapster2 is easy:
    1) Ensure that a cartridge is not inserted
    2) Hold down the Hint (?) button while turning the unit on. Continue to hold the Hint button down until the LEAPSTER menu appears.
    3) When the LEAPSTER menu screen appears, press the A button
    4) Touch each of the crosshairs that appear with the stylus
    5) Restart unit

    The Pen

I'm not familiar with your laptop but judging from all the pdas I've had with touch screens the pen itself is only a pen, you could basicly use a wooden stick to poke at the screen and it shouldn't make a difference to the computer.

this laptop has a touchscreen If I'm not mistaken and you should be able to use it even with your fingers.

You might have a faulty touchscreen or then you need to install a driver for the screen?
