Your LAn might be Intel PRO as pe hp site.
Try to find out driver from intel sites.
Similarly try to find out your modem manufacturer and download driver from their site.

Thanks & Good Luck

SOUND DRIVERS FOR COMPAQ PRESARIO C790EI ON WINDOWS XP

It is not always advisable to downgrade from Vista to XP, especially on a laptop. The reason being that most of the installed components on the laptop, are specifically chosen for their compatibility with Vista.
However, you can try the following driver, which is more or less a universal basic driver that should work with your machine.
http://www.soft82.com/download/Windows/Vinyl_AC97_Codec_Combo_Driver

Should that not work, you will have to find the make and model of your sound card and do a Google search for the drivers..

Hope that helps! Should you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here.

P.S. - If you find that the solution/answerI provided led you to, or resulted in a fix, please close the ticket with a FixYa!rating. I would be very grateful for your show of appreciation.

LAN and Sound Driver while downgrading from Vista to XP for Compaq B1214TU

Hello.
Did you look in the CDs you got from your pc vendor ?

Look in the documents you got with the pc for the motherboard(main board in your pc) manual, if you don't have the manual
try to locate it in one of the CDs included with the pc.
The important thing is to find out who made your motherboard and what is the model.
Once you know that, go to the manufacturer website, find the drivers for your model( for XP of course), download it and install it in your pc.
Note: when you get the drivers, SAVE it in a CD.

Good luck
