Hi,

Yes you can. If it's exactly 4 hours, then you need to change the "Eco" power settings as follows;

1. Press the "MENU" button on your Sony TV remote control.
2. Use the circular arrow keys on the remote to highlight the flower icon for the "Eco" settings:

3. Press the large "+" key on the remote (in the centre of the arrow keys) to open the "Eco" menu.
4. Use the DOWN arrow button to highlight "Idle TV Standby". (The current setting will be 4h)
5. Use the LEFT/RIGHT arrows to set the value to "OFF" (1h or 2h can also be set).
6. Press the "MENU" button again to close the menu and return to watching TV

Hope this helps. Please post back if you are still unable to disable this feature or need further assistance.

Regards,
BElectric

Tv keeps shutting off

hi deborah.
not sure if this will help you out,if not go to the link at the bottom for more help.
If you don't hit a remote button for a few hours, the TV turns itself off. Check to see if there's a settings option to disable this power saving feature, or to extend the time before it automatically turns the TV off. Maybe a sleep timer setting? The sleep timer is off.

Toshiba tv automatic on off

Depends on the model. Some models have energy saving feature

The unique energy saving feature is called 'Automatic Power Down'. This means the television will self-switch into stand-by if no television remote control commands are received within 4 hours. This feature is an energy saving solution for situations where the television may be left unattended for extended periods and has been enabled as the default setting.

You will see an on screen warning prior to the automatic shut down. Automatic shut down will be averted by depressing any key on the television remote control.

Use of automatic power down functions will be progressively introduced to future models in an effort to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gases.

If you would like to disable this feature you may follow the instructions below (depends on TV Model)

1. Press theMENUkey on the remote control.

2. Press theright arrow keyand highlightSETUP.

3. Press thedown arrow keyand highlightAutomatic Power Down.

4. Press theright arrow keyto change setting toOFF.

5. Press theEXITkey on the remote control.

Some models "auto shutsdown" if it doesn't detect any signal from the TV for around 15mins. Please search for this setting in the user's manual.

I hope it helps!

Screen saver

beautiful844,

Our receivers are set to automatically go into inactivity standby after 4 hours of inactivity. There is an option to extend or even disable this feature in the menus. Go to Menu > Preferences > Inactivity Standby.

Post here if you need any additional assistance!

With 2 tvs you set to record on 1 and it records on 2 instead?records on the opposite tv

Hello, Matthew Gonzales with DISH Network here. The default setting in our receivers are to automatically record everything onto TV2. You can change the setting by pressing menu-8- 5 (preferences-record plus), then you can either disable the feature, or set it to record onto TV1. If the feature is disabled, the show will record at whichever TV the timer is set up on. If it is set to TV1, all timers will attempt to record on TV1 (unless TV1 already has a recording going on it then it goes to TV2). Hope this helps.

Samsung PN58b530 tv and harmony 550. When setup have all devices set except when the tv turns on it stays on one hdmi setup then jumps to another that was not programmed.

Samsung TV's have Anynet automatic input switching. This severely conflicts with the Harmony Remote as they both do the same jobs; Switch inputs automatically. We would like for you to disable this feature on your Samsung TV using your original remote, so the Harmony Remote will work properly.

Disable Samsung Anynet+

1. Press your Tools Button.
2. Scroll down to Anynet and press your Select Button.
3. Once on the Anynet screen, please press your Left/Right Button(s) to select the Off Setting on the Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC)
4. Scroll down to the Auto Turn Off and select No.

Once this is completed, please turn off your TV and all device and power them back on using the Harmony Remote.
