You may need to update your windows media player. or you can try to download a code pack and install it onto Windows Media Player. Most of the time it is due to lack of codec. Or you can check on this article: "Windows Media Player Play No Sound".

You have to be more specific, what made you uninstall all this? what happened (changed) when the problem arrived? did you checked for viruses? did you re-installed everything you uninstalled?, I would try updating your sound card driver, update your antivirus, than scan the computer for viruses...

Good luck!

I need to download audio for my media player what do I need to download?

Check the "Device Manager" if the audio devices are properly install ie Audio/Sound drivers.
If your drivers are in order, you need to install the codec to play the Audio or video formats.

You can get the codec pack from http://www.free-codecs.com/index.htm. You can use either the "K-Lite Codec Pack or K-Lite Mega Codec Pack" on the Windows Platform.

Hope it helps.

I can't open any audio or video. I think audio or sound driver may be deleted in the PC. So help me out.

First of all, if you are on a Windows operating system platform, go to the "Device Manager" to check the sound devices ie "video & game controllers" to ensure if the Audio device is properly installed. If there is no problem with the sound devices, most probably you have not installed the "CODEC" necessary to your system to play the Audio or video files.

I have a sound related problem and do not know how to solve

Can you play audio files even if there's no sound with the Windows Media Player? if so some files of the sound driver is missing, you need to update the sound driver. Or if you can't play, then there's no sound driver only the codec is present without the device driver, the process is more or less the same..but before you follow these steps, put the Motherboard Driver CD on the CD Rom: Right Click on My Computer - Manage - Device Manager - Right click on the Yellow icon - Update Driver - No, Not this time - Next - Install from a list or Specific location - Next - Tick the "Include this Location in the Search - Browse - Go to the CD Rom Directory and search the Driver/Audio folder - and Select the Audio Driver folder - click OK- Next - Finish.. done..... Good luck.. Do let me know if this doesn't solve your problem, i am ready to help you..

I can't play any audio and video files

Is this new system? Make sure everything is sound in device manager. If it's not get latest drivers from manufactures website. If everything seems fine and this is new system you probably need to get "codecs". If system is running Windows XP try "nimo codec pack" or "xp codec pack" just google it, download install. restart your computer and everything should be fine. For other operation systems you need to do a little research on google. "video sound codecs Windows Vista" for example. Good Luck!

I deleted my audio device on my computer and now i need to reinstall that device.

you have a realtek sound card in your laptop, now you just need to go ahead and download it and restart your computer.

go to: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/
then download both
High Definition Audio Codecs (Software)
AC'97 Audio Codecs (Software)

and install both and see whichever one works for you

OR

1)Right click my computer and click manage.
2)Now go to device manager and select it.
3)To the right side u can see audio video and game controllers box, double click it.
4)U will see a yellow colour caution sign or something
5)Right click that and update automatically from the internet.

check the series, is it really require realtek? because the driver doesn't depends on the windows XP, but the type, model and series of motherboard or chipset brand.... anyway, realtek doesnt written on the device manager, check to your control panel - sound and audio device, is all enabled?or does any volume elements are muted..

I have no sound in my PC

BrendanG21, I had the same problem this morning. My sound actually quit in the middle of listening to music. Simply restart your computer (it may take a couple tries). If it's saying you have no audio device installed, but everything looks normal when you go into device manager, it's probably the same problem and this should work.

Running Windows XP
Dell B130 laptop
Sound devices listed under my device manager:
Audio Codecs
Legacy Audio Drivers
Legacy Video Capture Devices
Media Control Devices
SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC
Video Codecs

No audio device installed on my laptop

I'm not sure whether this is the exact same problem, as I was having, but mine just randomly quit while I was listening to music this morning. I got messages saying "No audio device installed", but when I went to device manager, all my audio devices said they were working properly. If this is the case with you, simply restart your computer. It may take a couple restarts, but this should work. My sound was back even before it finished shutting down.

If it helps anyone trying to get to the root of this problem, I am running XP on a Dell B130 laptop, with the following devices listed in Device Manager:
Audio Codecs
Legacy Audio Drivers
Legacy Video Capture Devices
Media Control Devices
SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC
Video Codecs
Hope this helps!
