Our LG LFC20760S refrigerator/freezer coldness setting is stuck. The refrigerator coldness setting is showing no values at all (and I can't update). The freezer coldness setting is stuck on 6 AND 7 (and I can't update). When I unplug and then replug in, the default coldness setting values (i.e. 4 for both) show. After a few minutes, however, the coldness settings return to the unusable state mentioned above.

always start by setting you temperatures at mid range.

I get a little PUSHY about FOOD TEMERATURES...
(stored poorly there's no quicker way of poisoning ones self)...

I strongly recommend getting TAYLOR refrig/freezer
THERMOMETERS (like Amazon... cheap = $6 ea).

Let the refrigerator stabilize EMPTY 24 HOURS
Loaded with food (not recommended: 72 hours).

ADJUSTING CONTROL SETTINGS
Give the refrigerator time to cool down completely before adding food. It is best to wait 24 hours before you put food into the refrigerator. The mid-settings indicated in the previous section should be correct for normal household refrigerator usage. The controls are set correctly when milk or juice is as cold as you like and when ice cream is firm.

The cold air is blown from the freezer into the fridge if the fan doesn't work then no cold in fridge( actually I think there are 2 fans in these, 1 horizontal 1 vertical) otherwise it could be a defrost problem, if the element doesn't work the rear fills up with ice and the air cant flow. Check the vent door from the freezer to the refrigerator...when you turn the refrigerator off with the knob, does the vent door close. The bottom of your refrigerator works from the freezer blowing cold air through the vent to the bottom of the refrigerator. If it is turned all the way down, that should shut off the flow to the bottom. If any thing is broke there, it will continue to let cold air come down the vent, so check it out. The vent knob itself might not be working to turn the vent door down or off. There also, is a relay on the back of the refrigerator that controls the compressor on and off...it could be stuck in on position.

I have a similiar problem with my LG refrigerator. The freezer settings get stuck on 6 and 7, while the refrigerator side is showing nothing. Pushing the buttons to adjust the temperature does nothing. The whole time, my food is getting spoiled.

Try turning the fridge and the freezer off at the controls.
Then turning off the breaker for the fridge for 5 minutes .
then turn the breaker back on and restart the fridge and freezer!
This should reset the system and solve your problem.
