1080i only works with component cables and wont go to 1080p but your hdmi will set it back to 1080i and then switch back to the component cables.

Dynex HDTV says not supported when PS3 is connected via HDMI

Have you tried changing the video output settings on the PS3? It may just be on a setting that the TV does not support. For instance, if the poutput setting is 1080P, and the TV only supports up to 1080i, you would get a "not supported" signal. Hook the ps3 to a tv that it works on...turn it on, go to settings- display settings-output settings- select HDMI as the connector type- if it asks for 3D tv size...select the size- now you need to set the resolution...select all resolutions that the TV supports, since it is a dynex...it is likely a 720p TV. So I would start by selecting only 720p, and then hook the system to the Dynex TV and see if it works now. If it works, you can go back in and attempt to select 1080i or 1080p to see if they work... but again, being a Dynex, it is probably only a 720p TV... The PS3 is likely trying to output a 1080i or 1080p signal...which that TV doesn't support.

I have a sony 3d tv model xbr-52hx909 how do you change the resolution from 1080i to 1080p

The resolution is controlled by the video sources, you do not adjust it at the TV, if you feed it with video sources that is 1080i it will display 1080i.
I hope that will explain how it works.

How do I change the resolution on my samsung ua32c4000

The TV resolution is controlled by your VIDEO sources, if you feed nit with 720P it will display 720p, 1080i in 1080i dipslay if it capable of 1080i. It is not set at the TV, just like the resolution setting of the monoitor which is doen on the PC not at the monitor.

Try changing the settings on the Xbox under display to 1080i. If it is 1080 p, or 720p, the image will look funny so make sure it is at 1080i.

Display resolution through dvi input HELP!

For the record I have a playstation 3 running to tx100 through hdmi to dvi adapter. It does all resolution no probs, including 720p,1080i and 1080p (which tx100 does do smoothly through dvi). My denon upscaling dvd player works fine too. In fact the tx100 looks totally awsome with PS3 games and Blu-ray.

Maybe your dvi lead is the wrong type (i think there are 2 types) or perhaps you could test with a differrent piece of DVI kit in case it's your pioneer causing probs? Hope this helps.
