See my frequently asked questions TIP on my profile page-- take the scope outside during the day time, put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the diagonal, and put the diagonal into the rear of the scope. DO NOT use the 2x barlow. Practice focusing on a distant object during the day time.

All GOTO scopes have specific setup procedures, usually:

1. Level the tripod

2. Point the scope NORTH or in the HOME position.

3. Center both alignment stars

etc etc

Read the manual and follow the instructions exactly.

Maybe $100 -- tops. Check craigslist.com

The scope has a specific SETUP procedure which includes leveling the mount and selecting 2 alignment stars.

You won't find a manual for those small telescopes. However Meade maintains a web site for their scopes. Look around the page for one similar to your telescope and download a manual.
