Hi,

Did you try reseting your nuvi?

  • Anonymous Jul 09, 2008

reset the unit but do it this way, hold your thumb on the bottom right
of the screen while turning the power on, leave your thumb there as it
is starting up and until it says reset all user data. select yes. a
broken connection is so unlikely due to the position and connection of
    the antenna.

remember give it a few mins to get the first initial signal. this will be like starting a brand new gps up

The best thing is to use a reset button.

    !)Raise the antenna
    2)Press the reset button.

Please CLICK HERE and refer the pg. no. 58 of the user manual.Everything is explained step by step..

Also once you reset the unit to factory settings you will loose all your data.

The touch screenon my Garmin Nuvi 600/650 won't work. What can i do?

This is a common problem with units having the serial numbers beginning with "14V", "12P" and "143". It's caused by a defective SHARP touchscreen and needs to be replaced. Please see this link for more info:

My sons Garmin nuvi 360 has just stopped acquiring

Try resetting everything. The first step is to Start the GPS unit, while it is starting (when the screen turns on) hold your finger in the lower left corner. It will then prompt you to open in maint. mode. Select yes, and go through the menus by selecting next. When a third option is shownsuch as reset, select it. Reset everything including deleting your saved addresses, you will loose all of your saved info but it should start working again. Hope this works for you as it did for me.

Garmin Nuvi takes a long time to Acquire satellite

No. 98% of the time it took 45-56 seonds for your NUVI 660. Thats the compagny set up time acquisition and it did very well.

Be sur you had your flip antenna parallel to earth surface.
660 has THE BEST SIRF Chipset for acquiring satellite.

I had 2 NUVI 660 since 2 years. It work much better than those new 7xx series who it really took 2-3 minutes to acquire satellite.

Be sure you update your version to the last one.
