1996 ford explorer with JBL sound system with 6 CD changer, keeps saying BAD CD when asked to play

try blowing it all out with a air gun there may be some dirt on the inside. you may also want to try a cd cleaner

try disconnecting power to the radio for an hour or so. usually it is best to disconnect the battery overnight to reset the microprocessors.

Everyone keeps talking about a reset small hole around eject button/ power switch. I have the JBL 6 disc changer. Where is this reset hole on that system? 2002 Camry.

many moons ago we were asked to do the same thing. back then stackers were all the rage. we found a unit called a simplex devider x12 made by asm china .as to weather they can still be sourced is not known as asm closed there doors long ago they converted most sony/kenwood/clarion/pioneer to each other but as to if you can get one now i dout it but that was how we did it

OK I am no expert but I have has this exact same problem......TWICE. I just addressed it again this afternoon by disconnecting the battery. Once reconnected the radio "initialized" and I was able to eject all cd's and use the player again. I can only speculate as to the cause but it could be because at least 3 of the cd's contained MP3's burned from my ITunes library. I will stick to audio cd's and see if it happens again!

replace head unit the cost to fix the problem you could but two deck ,use a wiring harness and get the aftermarket mountain kit

We finally realized that all of the "advisers" on the internet want to charge for their advice, and their advice in this case is univerally that the unit should just be replaced. Ya think?! Could of figured that one out on our own.....what a joke...

I have a 2002 Ford explorer and a 6 disc cd changer, all slots are full, no CD's will eject or play. I just took my car to a local body shop, they went under the hood, disconnected my battery, plugged it back up and my CD's came out when I pushed the eject button
