It sounds like the problem is in the motor. Because of the heavy load on the motor during normal swing operation the brushes that are attached to the communicator are wearied out. This causes a loose contact between the brushes and communicator and the motor is loosing his power. Ideally, I would replace the motor. The only a problem is that the available replacement motors have a short shafts, when the motor used in Graco swing has a very long shaft. So, there are two solutions: buy a new motor sage from Graco for $28; OR buy a new motor ($5-$7), then carefully remove a nylon end cap from the old motor and replace it with the nylon cap from a new motor (WARNING: you have to be careful when doing this, because if it will be done inappropriately the brushes can be easily damaged)

You have to buy new motor if warranty expires. Just call them and get new motor free from manufacturer if warranty did not expire. I did the same thing.

Where is the motor located on a graco Duoglider swing model 2000709?

Probably better to ask them direct especially if it needs warranty repair. We are not they, we are Fixya. We just have a Graco category for handy filing of questions.

I have the Graco Glider XL that I bought from a yardsale for $15. The only thing I can get to work is the vibration part. The swing its self will not turn on, swing or music. I've tookin it apart... I do...

I have the exact same swing with the exact same problem, sometimes it will come on and sometimes it does absolutely nothing. It has made me very angry because i took it apart and cleaned the internals up, when i put it back together, it worked fine until my baby wanted to swing the next day, and then it refused to work again. Now the pile of junk is sitting at the edge of my yard after i slung it out the door. My advice, Throw it in the trash where it belongs and go buy a different brand because Graco is TRASH.

I bought it and put new batteries in it and the music will play and i press the buttons to make it swing and it doesnt do anything. It doesnt make any noise like its trying to swing or nothing. Could that...

Graco swing motors are known for going bad, sorry. I have had no luck trying
to fix them as you tear them down and the electronics are what has gone bad.
They have a motion sensor in them along with a complicated motor to swing swivel
that if you lose a small ball that is the interface, you are doomed.
Time for a new one and if you buy one at a garage sale be sure to run it with weight in
it for at least 5 minutes. That culls out the bad motor ones!

Graco swing not working, I'm trying to open the motor box, but can't get the last screw out, which is behind the swinging attachement.

You need to remove the center of the part the connects to the chair. Use a thin screwdriver to pry it out a little, slide the screwdriver into the center and then pry each of the two tabs outward from the center. As you unhook it, you will be able to pry it out and then the attachment mechanism will pull off.

Baby swing......graco doesn't swing

I had the exact same problem the motor worked fine but when we took it apart the gear inside was stripped. i hate saying it but best thing you can do is buy a new swing. i personally recommend http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3420749&camp=PPC%3A204318389. its a little bit high but so worth the money. my 8mo old baby girl loves it. it also has a AC adapter so no more batteries and an ipod hook up as well so you can pick what music you want your baby to listen to. best of luck.
