How can I connect my JVC Everio GZ-MG155 camcorder (with a dock) to the HDMI tv input? What kind of adaptor(s) would I need?

The Everio GZ-MG155 and the dock supports an special A/V cable with composite ( http://store.jvc.com/product.asp?Model=QAM0120-001 ) or S-video ( http://store.jvc.com/product.asp?Model=YTU94146A ) cables for a TV with an analog tuner (NTSC). These signals are 480i. If you want to connect this analog signal to the HDMI port, you need an analog to digital video converter (and the appropriate cables). Something like this would work: http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=101&cp_id=10114&cs_id=1011406&p_id=9994&seq=1&format=2 . This model will attempt to upconvert the signal to an HD format (720p minimum). Additional converters are here: http://www.hdtvsupply.com/cotohdco1.html . The A/V to HDMI cables will not work so check out these products carefully.

The manual for the JVC Everio GZ-MG155 is available on the product page: http://support.jvc.com/consumer/product.jsp?modelId=MODL027855 . The direct link to the Instruction manual is http://resources.jvc.com/Resources/00/00/91/LYT1668-001C.pdf .

I hope this helps. If your TV has the legacy analog ports, you just need the original A/V cable.

No disc for my JVC Everio GZ-HD7U

You don't need the disc. Buy Corel's latest videostudio x2 for editing. To extract the video files from camera just plug into computer with USB cable and search the camera for files.

Remote not working

If you have a manual there usually is a master reset for your camera. Otherwise a menu item changed. Lastly I hope it hasn't failed on you.

JVC CAMCORDER GZ-HD7U

You CAN NOT use the Firewire to capture your footage like DV or HDV camcorders. I too Have a macbook pro and use FCPS2 to edit my footage. If you want to get the footage off of the HD7u, you'll have to connect via USB2.0 and download the .TOD files and use a program to convert them. I use MPEGStreamclip. It will work with the .TOD files and convert them to a format that iMovie or FInal Cut will understand. If this is not for professional work you'll probably be fine converting the footage to the HDV standard or DV standard and not have to render in FCP to edit the footage.
Caution... MPEG2 codec may be needed. If you have FCP or have Quicktime pro, you probably already have it other wise you can purchase it from apple for $29.99 or if you try real hard (not to hard) you can probably find it on a torrent for free.
I hope this helps your situation

UpDated Firmware for the JVC GZ-HD7U.

There currently are no updates for the camcorder, they discontinued the camcorder shortly after it hit stores.. seemed to have alot of issues.
To the other user with the similar issues. The camcorder isn't the same as a DV camcorder and you may not be able to capture live. My suggestion would be to mount the camera using the USB cable and copying the video files from the camcorders internal hard drive to your desired location.
You may need an application to convert the videos, I suggest MpegStream Clip. They have a version for PC and Mac.
