I have a Maytag front load washer. The washer will not drain and the door will not unlock. All of the power sources and hoses have been checked, is there a way to manually unlock it?

Door does not unlock because there is water inside the machine.

Before unlocking you need to disconnect power. With power off remove trim at the base and access the drain pump filter. Open the housing and collect water. Also check the drain hose at the back.

The fault is usually either drain problem or defective door latch. I resumed here the full troubleshooting : If you have no spin there may be different reasons behind the problem. Before advancing to spin

follow the below procedures on how to Troubleshoot a Front Load Washer That Won't Spin or Drain;

1. Remove any kinks in the drain hose. Ensure that the washer is not sitting on the hose.

2. Inspect the household drain. Remove clogs, if possible. Call a plumber if you cannot remove the clogs.

3. Check the drain and make sure there is an air gap between the hose and drain. An air gap is necessary to prevent the drain hose from siphoning water.

4. Clean the pump filter. Open the pump access door. Turn the pump filter counter-clockwise and remove it. Remove dirt and debris. Replace the filter and close the pump access door.

5. Rearrange the clothing in the load. An unbalanced load can prevent the washer from spinning or draining.

6. Allow the washer to cool down for two hours. If the washer overheats, it will stop the motor and cool down before restarting.

7. Close the door completely. The washer will not operate if the door is not securely closed.

Pull off the lower front panel and reach up on the right of the washer to the door lock assembly you will feel a tab hanging down pull it and the door will release. Clean out the drain filter and pump hoses etc. Rise it out and you may have to clean the filter a few times.

Try unplugging the washer for 30 seconds then run a rinse and spin cycle. If it is still acting up you can remove the top panel and reach your arm down the front right side and find the door latch assembly. At the bottom up it is a pull tab. if there is still water in the tub.then you can use a wet dry shop vac and attach it to then end of the drain hose and remove all the water,once the water is removed the door should unlock after you turn it back on.then you can check the drain pump for obstructions.
have you checked the power coming off the board to the switch

Check the door seal for tears and the drain boot from tub to drain boot for anything that might have put a hole in like a piece of metal from an under wire bra which front loads will spin so fast that the wires come out of the bras.

The drain pump os obviously either blocked or gone. Lie the drain hose on the ground to drain by gravity. Then have a look at the pump. This may need to be taken out as I'm not sure if there is a pump filter on this particular model. The door is designed to not open with water in the drum.

have you checked for any foreign objects in the drain pump itself this if the most likely problem.or the drain pump has completly stop.make sure you pull the drain hoses from the pump and check for foreign objects if there is still water in the unit use a shop vac and connect it to the drain hose to remove all the water before disconnecting the drain hoses. after the water is drain this may unlock the door as well
