Brenda, according to the GE website, that model is no longer available. They do have other models of similar size though. I have included a link to their website for that size microwave. Products from GE Appliances

I would be sure the filters and ducts are not blocked.

If you recently had a problem with your cooktop lights, that can affect the fan, too, but that can usually be economically repaired.

This is most likely a bad door switch or mount (usually the bottom but occasionally the top) or a defective relay or connection on the circuit board, which can be repaired.

What do you mean you checked the door interlocks? did you remove them and take a resistance reading? Or do they look like they are there? I am sticking with the door switches as the problem..

Our microwave looks and sounds to be operating normally, except that nothing becomes heated despite using different pre-set or manual modes.

If it sounds normal and not heating, you may need to replace the magnetron. this is a very common problem and normally occurs from the overheating of food.
if the microwave is making a gumming noise, then the diode needs to be replace.

GE Microwave Model JE1640WA runs when the door is open only

You probably have a loose or broken door switch mount or the door may be slightly misaligned.

so just google, 1.4 cu ft microwaves

Exterior Depth 17.25 in.
