Sony Triniton Wega Model KV 32HS510. After pushing the power button, the tv starts to power up, then the standby light blinks 7 times then pauses before blinking 7 times again. It continues to do this, without ever coming on. I tried unplugging the power cord for several hours before trying to start the tv again. This did not correct the problem. However, I just now tried to start the set one more time and it came on in the usual way. That being: first you hear the set power upafter pushing the power button, then the standby light blinks two or three times then the picture comes on. This is usually an indication of a failure in the scan amplifier sections. When the scan amplifiers or high voltage sections fail, the main power supply will usually also require servicing.

It is very common that the fly-back and high voltage multiplier and also the horizontal output stage fails in these sets. Along with it, the power supply will usually require to be serviced. On rare occasions, the vertical deflection amp fails.

What is the life span for the Sony Wega KV-32HS510?

10,000 continous woking hours is calculated to most of the CRT based TVs.
It is only calculation, but the life span might be much more that that. I've repaired a Sony TV recently, which was released by Sony Corporation Japan. The model is KV1820, an 18" Trinitron TV, still works perfectly. Just see, it is an '80 model one.

Turn on my Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-32HS510 32" TV, you hear a click, and then it blinks 3 times pauses and repeats.

Three blinks - B+ over voltage protection (OVP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 3 blink fault. This is also a problem in the power supply circuit, check T603 and R672. This is the fault with 3 blinks. If you wish to get more, check the site linked here.http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Pull up previous posts, either by brand search, or view it in Mosaic / Timeslide / Flipcard option.

My tv want turn on and the standby light just blinks 7 times

Do a google search for SONY LED BLINKS and select the second choice in the list. This is a known problem with these tv's it will require the two 18 pin IC's replaced on the D power board.

Good luck

Sony Trinitron Wega Standby blinks & the TV won't turn on

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device, in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

Un plug and let stand for one minute. If it still does blink then use the reset on the remote and press it while pressing the power button on the TV.

Sony Vega Service Codes

KV-32HS510 and KV-27HS420, seven times blink error code shows problem in Horizontal deflection circuit.

There are many possibilities like dry solder joints, weak capacitors, Horizontal transistor short or flyback transformer fried etc.

If you have little experience of TV repair and good solder skills and have necessary tools to test / check defective parts, then you can make it. you also need to have related service manual to see board location, schematics and part numbers.

TV will not come on.

The 7 blinks indicate a high voltage shutdown (high voltage exceeded 33,000V). This is usually caused by a defective regulator. Could you please post the exact model number (KVxxx) and I'll look up the part you will likely need?

Thanks,
Dan

Sony Vega Service Codes

The 7 blinks indicate an over voltage condition. The high voltage section has exceeded 33,000V. This is generally caused by a bad regulator. I don't have a listing for your model, but there should be a multi-pinned IC attachd to a heatsink marked STRxxx located close to where the AC cord comes into the set. Post the actual marking here and I'll get you the part number and cost. That is the regulator that may be the problem.
