Only First Phone in the system will ring on incoming calls

We purchased a Norstar ICS system with M7310 phones. One the first phone in the system will ring on incoming calls. I am looking for the manual on how to program the other extentions. The only one I found was for a 7316 phone. The layout is different and I do not have a "Show" button on the M7310 Phone. The Manual continually refers to the "Show" button.
Is there a Manual for programming with the M7316?

The programming instructions refer to a paper "overlay" that labels the top four buttons on each side of the vertical LCD display... With a little practice you quickly get used to them and don't need the label.

Heading: top left, used to move "up" or out of a subheading (subheading is a Nortel term, think of it as opening another level of menu options)
.
Back: second from top left: Back: used to move back to a previous item in the same group (subheading).

Show: top right, used to do "down" into a subheading (item or group)

Next: second from right, under Show: used to move forward to next item in group or subheading.

The LCD arrows change to show available options at various levels.

These progamming mode buttons are similar on 7310 and 7316, but you need a phone with a a two-line upper display for programming (i.e. not a 7208).

To make other phones ring on incoming calls, you need to go into Config, then at Terminals&Sets, press Show (top right) , enter the extension you want to have ring, press Show again, next is Line Access, press Show, at Line Assignment, press Show, at Show Line press LIST softkey. Each line will be displayed with Ring, Appear and Ring, Ring Only, Unassigned.... press CHANGE softkey until you see Appear&Ring, then NEXT for next line, and repeat for each line.
If you select Ring Only, the line will ring on an Intercom button. Appear&Ring puts the line on a dedicated key.

There are many options and versions depending on your hardware and firmware version, so your menus may not be identical to the above, but this should get you through. Good luck!

Our incoming calls are not ringing out loud on our NorStar M7310 - how do we correct?

Did you check for the volume control and its adjustments? Do you have the setting on "mute?"

I have put a main greeting on my Norstar M7310 phone for all 5 incoming lines, however one of our incoming lines has grabbed a personal message form another extension and callers get that personal message...

You need to know what extension is causing the forward directly to voice mail. Chances are that this extension has ringing lines programmed to it and the forward on busy is to voice mail. ANY PHONE THAT HAS RINGING LINES SHOULD NOT BE SET TO FORWARD ON BUSY. If they happen to be on the phone when a call comes in it will go straight to their personal mailbox.

Caller ID not working on Norstar terminal using line dedicated to fax and phone

You must have latest software to have Caller ID
You must have a Caller ID line card
Caller ID must be programmed on the phone to allow it
Caller ID signal from carrier is sent between 1st and 2nd call

FYI on the fax: Analog ports (ATA's) on the Norstar system do not show Caller ID, instead you would need to use a line share device that supports caller id such as the STICK.

Incoming calls only ring on one phone!

that's a setting within the PBX system. See if you can find your user manual, or contact a business telecom company to see if they can provide you a copy.

We have a Norstar - Meridian M7310 phone system. Today for some unknown reason when an incoming call comes in, the ring is two short rings rather that the "longer" ring that we normally have. I have...

The two short rings is telling you that the call is either a transfered call (answered by someone else and transfered) or answered by an auto attendant and transfered. Watch the ringing phone when the call comes in and see if the intercom LED blinks.

M7310 phone not ringing audibally

If the internal calls dont ring, then there is something with the extension. When a call is ringing the phone, press the UP VOLUME. Chances are that someone accidentally turned the ringer all the way down.

Let me know if that doesnt work.

Programming a phone to pick up calls

I need more information. When calls come in, does the triangles appear on the phones you want to pick up? Do you have all the lines on the phones? Is sounds like you want only the "ringing sound" to happen on your phone, but have it appear on the others. Is this correct??
