Connect the Ethernet cable from your laptop to the router. Then reinstall the setup disc for the router in your laptop. This time write down your new password somewhere where you can find it.
Thry try to run the router's management software from the poriginal laptop. Have the router physically connected to the PC with an ethernet cable. You ahould be able to reset the password when you run the management software. Try installing the router's management software from the CD on the new laptop if you can find it. You can also probably find it on-line if you don't have the CD. Good luck. Bry
You'll need to reset your router to its factory default condition, then re-enter your configuration information (ie, set a new wireless password, etc.).
Use a paperclip or similar item to (while the router is on) depress the "Reset" switch on the back of the router, hold it for 10 seconds, then release. This will reset it so you can reconfigure it as if it was new using the web interface.
Hope that's helpful.
