Salt blu ray will not load on Samsung BD1500 player and I have checked the Samsung support site, I have the latest FW release (which is actually pretty old).
The EXACT same thing happens on my brand new (2 weeks old) RCA portable blu ray player.
Is there something different about or wrong with the Salt blu ray disk itself?

Download and manually update the firmware to version 2.4 for the BD-P1400 from the Samsung site. Burn the image (ISO) to a CD or CD-RW. It will take 20 minutes to do the update. The internet update will not fix the problem. It fixed the problem for me.
Have you updated your Blu-ray player firmware this month from Samsung.com? It looks like the latest updated was from Dec. 1, 2010. I was having the same issue and downloading/installing the update resolved the issue...I'm watching the movie now but before the update I was having the same issue you reported. After the update the disc still seemed to pause on the loading bar but it worked. Check out http://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/BD-P2500
Just need to verify if your trying to play a Bluray Disc or regular DVD?
If Bluray Disc:
All you need to do is to check on the FW version of you BD player. Go to Set-up > System > System Information. SW will be the FW version info. Please be informed that the latest FW version is v2.12. If it will not resolved the concern, try to verify if its happening to all of your Bluray Disc.
I'm not going to tell you to replace the laser reader or anything technical like that. Basically, take the thing back to the shop and have it replaced. If you fiddle with it yourself, all you're going to do is void you warrantee. Simples :)
If its not a Blu-Ray disc, it wont have new technology that the Blu-Ray does not have installed so its unlikely a firmware update wil fix this as its generally for new Blu-Rays.
You can download the upgrade from the Samsung site. There are instructions for the entire process as well. Please note that you will need to create an ISO CD for the upgrade.
