My wife is complaining that every time she turns off/on the camera she has to reset the data/time. I understand that when the batteries are changed the settings may be lost, but not simply when the camera is turned off. Can this be ste for date/time to be retained when the camera is turned off.

Sounds to me that there may be another battery inside the camera that is going bad.

Issue: Everytime I power on the camera the Date / Time needs to be set.
Solution: Replacing the Date Battery for the PowerShot A480.

Replacing the Date Battery. If the Date/Time menu appears when the camera power is turned on, the date battery charge is low and the date and time settings have been lost. Please purchase a lithium coin battery (CR1220) and replace it as follows.
Please note that the first date battery may appear to expire relatively quickly after you purchase the camera. This is because it is installed in the camera at the point of manufacture, not when you make the purchase. My wife is complaining that - caution.gifBe particularly careful to keep the date batteries out of the reach of children. Seek medical assistance immediately if a child swallows a battery since corrosive battery fluids can damage the stomach or intestinal walls. 1. Confirm that the camera power is turned off.
2. Open up the battery door / cover and remove the AA Batteries.
3. Remove the date/time battery holder.
4. Grasp the battery and slide it in the direction of the arrow.
a480backupbatt.jpg 5. Insert a new battery with the (+) side facing up.
6. Replace the battery holder and battery cover.
7. When the Date/Time menu appears set the date and timeMy wife is complaining that - note.gif /> note.gif After purchasing the camera and turning on the power for the first time, although the Date/Time menu will appear, you do not need to replace the date battery. If you ever dispose of your camera, first remove the date battery for recycling according to the recycling system of your area.

You need to change the Data battery that is located at the side of camera under connection flap. The battery needed is CR1220.

What can we do to unlock my wife's kyocera phone?

This option is actually a last resort if you are unable to recover or remember the code you have set up..
Hard Reset the phone which will erase/delete all data stored on the phone.. if you can somehow access your data via a computer, try to backup your data before doing the reset. If the phone has a memory card added, you can remove it before the reset process.

Ways to hard reset the phone.

Turn off the phone. If by any reason you cannot turn it off using the power button, remove the battery. Open the flip once the back of the phone has been exposed. Look for the "Reset" button using a small pointed object. Keep pressing it then press the "Backlight" button located on top of the phone.Release the "Reset" button after approximately 3 seconds. Release the "Backlight" button when the display on your phone appears.Choose the "Yes" option by pressing the "Up" button when the "Erase all data?" message appears. You must select the "Yes" option to complete the hard reset.

Another method is to again make sure the phone is turned off. Then press and hold the Volume Down button/key at the same time, press the Power switch/button until the phone starts and display comes up. Release the keys then use the Volume up/down button to select "wipe data/factory reset" then press the Power key. Choose "Yes -- delete all user data" then press Power key again. Once done, do the same steps to perform "wipe cache partition ". Once completed, let it reboot and set up your phone again.

Hope the info sheds some light of hope to at least allow you use your phone again, though as if it is the first time.

Wheres reset button on sony cybershot dsc w130???

I'm glad to provide the information about the Camera. The Camera does not have a RESET button to press manually to reset it.

If you wish to reset the Camera, you can use the Initialize option from the Menu item to perform it if the Camera is allowing it.

Please perform a power resetting if the Camera is not turning ON or you're unable to access the Menu items. Please follow the below steps to perform a power resetting
  • Remove the battery from Camera.
  • Press and hold the Power button for more than 15 seconds.
  • Reinsert the battery
  • Turn ON the Camera.

Thanks for understanding. Please let me know if you require further assistance.

My wife has a Sony SuperShot DSC-T300 camera that periodically (for no apparent reason) starts to vibrate and prevents her from taking clear pictures. It seems to happen randomly and go away randomly...

This is a common problem with Sony cameras. They fixed some of them for free for awhile. You should complain, complain, and complain some more to Sony.

CHANGING DATE. SET DATE INCORRECTLY WHEN USING 1ST TIME

I understand that you wish to change the date on your KODAK camera.;
Please go into the menu, camera settings, date and time.

You can also reset the camera: Take the batteries out for longer than 10 sec. reinsert and the camera automatically asks you to set date and time.

Camera resets DATE and Time to Jan 2002 when

Some of these cameras cannot save the date, and has no internal battery to save the data. The best solution I have use is to buy another battery with these kinds of cameras and always have one charging, or take two batteries when you take pictures.
These older point and shoot cameras are nice, and slower than the newer ones, but will not save the data unless you keep the main battery in it, or replace the one to be charged with another battery within a very short time.

Jasjar - Voice cracks too much

Sometimes these devices get hot.So try switching it off and remove the battery as well as the sime and wait than for a while.Do than a hard reset.I must warn to first back up important information from the device as once you do a hard reset. The device will be restored to the orginal factory settings and all data will be lost.Try this and see.I had a problem with the device ringing very shortly like about three to four rings and than it just it would just cut off.People would complain about me not answering the phone. But it was not me but the device not giving me enough time to answer. So I did a hard reset and it is working fine ....for now.I'll see what happeneds. So try this and see if this is a problem with all your calls than have the software checked out.

No LCD Display

Your LCD is broken.
I'm an Imaging Salesman at Circuit City and I would normally say to get the LCD fixed but that would be a waste of money due to the fact that this model was released in 2004 and you would be better off getting a new camera.

If you are looking for another Canon....
For good quality and "user-friendliness" i would suggest the:

Canon SD1000, SD870, SD750 (Thin, sleek designs that come with rechargable batteries)

For more a more convenient price without loss of quality you might want to check out the Canon PowerShot A560.
(A somewhat large and bulky camera that runs on regular AA batteries)

Good Luck!!

Camera looses date & time setting

There is a cmos battery (or a memory battery) on the main circuit that like any battery wears out eventually. If you are familiar with repairing electronic circuits you can get the part from Olympus. There is no part number just "memory battery for C-740" will suffice. Your other two choices are to take the camera to a shop where they can do the kob for you. Don't let them sell you a complete new board, you don't need one. Not for this problem anyway. Or you can ignore the problem and reset the camera (or not)each time you change batteries.
