If you're drawing audio from the Cable Box, good. If the Cable Box has a variable audio output you might need to defeat it in the menus somewhere. Look for something like "Fixed". That way the volume control on the box will not affect the feed to the GPX.

If you're drawing audio from the TV, why? See above.

NEED A USB CABLE

The item can be purchased through the GPX website.
Here is a direct link, $5, if the link doesn't work go to GPX.com, go to MP3 players, go to ML648B, under the picture click accessories, and click USB cable.
Thank you for using FixYA! Happy Holidays!

Cannot get the surround to work correctly gpx dvd home theater

Check your setting it may be set to 2.1 or stereo. As for hooking up the tv check for aux or tv audio inputs on the dvd player and attach to the audio outs on the tv. You may need to change the settings on the tv, go to the audio menu on the tv and change from variable to fixed.

GPX portable dvd player does not play on bigger tv with rca cable

You have to buy the $15 video cable from GPX. I tried several differant cables including RCA to S Video as a last resort. They say theirs is propritary and I now believe it!!!

GPX PD808B Portable DVD Player

The pin on a regular 3.5mm av to rca is TOO SHORT. If you get the unit from GPX, you'll note it is a bit longer. I found this problem also affected Sony and other portable DVD players - the regular 3.5mm plug is TOO SHORT. I haven't found a source other than GPX for the av cable with the correct length plug. Weird but true.

Problem setting up DVD home theatet sound system sc-pt460 with my vierra panasonic TV. The two appropriately connected with HDMI plus Optical cables. Mainly wish to use it improve TV sound. Have got it...

to see the dvd sound menu option you must be on the correct input selection for your tv. ie. if its Scart, then AV1, or if HD then HDMI 1 etc. then you see the options. as for sound being variable, you can adjust the sound for each speaker in this mode. Main thing for having surround sound with normal TV is to turn on the sound enhancement mode. also, on your viera link on the tv remote, make sure sound its selected as home cinema. word of warning, leave dvd on D-In option, and when turning the TV off, use standby mode, which turns both systems off, ensuring the link does not break.

Code for multi region free

I figured out the code, it's printed incorrectly many places.

1 - Turn on DVD Player
2 - Press Open/Close button - open tray
3 - Press "8888"
4 - Put a DVD in the tray (from outside your region)
5 - Press Open/Close button - close tray
6 - Voila! It plays!

Works on mine!

Connecting to front inputs of a Toshiba tv

As a replacement for "Dolby Digital DT3 AV cable" can be used a " 3.5mm (mono) to RCA(or coaxal)" Cable.
Just make sure that DVD Player set for "SPDIF/RAW" or "SPDIF/PCM" output
