It is probably a burned magnetron, sorry to tell you that a magnetron is the heart of the device (it is what produces the MICROWAVES) so it is almost the price of a new microwve oven.

You could ave it cheked could be just a fuse as well...

Good luck!

Kenmore Microwave model Fan running and light on when door closed.

This is normal. Kenmore microwaves will stay running with fan and light on for a short time after food is cooked. The reason is to air out the microwave after cooking. Things like pop corn, Bacon etc. have strong smells after cooking. The ventilation helps to remove odors.

Kenmore Microwave not heating. Turns on, lights, clock, etc.

The problem is one of three things, the magnetron has failed "common problem" or the high voltage capacitor or diode can be a factor, all three work together to heat the food. Depending on repairs the cost can be as much as a new microwave oven.

Does not heat anymore, power is going to unit, the clock, and fan work, light still works but it will not heat and makes a low growling sound when we try to run it. Help!

What you are describing is a problem with the magnetron and it has become faulty, that is the main part that heats the food, the growling sound indicates it is loading down the power transformer that energizes the magnetron. The repair cost will not justify the expense "costly" replacement of the microwave oven "cheaper" in the long run.

No heating

Sounds like the magnetron has failed. This is the component that produces the microwaves that heats the food.

The cost of the magnetron is about 95% of the cost of a microwave oven. Most people don't, for this reason, replace the magnetron, they replace the whole oven which is probably what you will end up doing.

There is a possibility that the circuit that provides power to the magnetron is faulty and you need to take it apart, find the proper electrical leads and test them with a volt meter. To do this you have to remove it from its mounting and take it apart. It is a fairly lengthy process however.

Kenmore microhood model 665.62612200

This is usually caused by either a bad door switch, a loose door switch mount, or a problem on the control panel.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside.

Door switches are most often damaged by opening the door while it's cooking (instead of pressing Stop / Clear first) or food
/ grease debris in the switch.

If you or a friend decide to look into it, we have critical information on safety, disassembly and door switches at our site, linked here on Fixya: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

It's also possible there may be a problem on the circuit board, which we repair nationwide.

Kenmore 665.61629100 Microwave Problem

The 665 prefix on your model number is Whirlpool, but I haven't found the code "d" listed yet.

Can you set the cooking time?

If so, what happens when you press Start?

I'll post back if I find the codes or if you have other info and I can help further.
