Dead lamp I am trying to find out what is behind the metal plate on the bulb cartrage of a mitsubishi WD-57732? where is the lamp senser located at? My bulb keeps blowing!!!

just replace the lamp, no adjusts needed. I recommend a Phillips, OSRAM, or the original Mitsubishi lamp, as others will either not work or have a very short life.

Something is definitely wrong if you are consistently only getting a month out of a bulb.

Either something is overdriveing the power to the bulb (unlikely) or there is a vibration or something is intruding on the bulb itself.

Lamp is replaced by customer in most cases---look to owner manual---in general if lamp up front (I think yours is by the model number indicated) the front plate beneath the screen gets removed (have set unplugged) and a lamp door is marked---it opens when screw/s securing it are removed.

Inside are two more screws---with them removed grasp the handle for the cartridge with the lamp and pull it out.

Be sure to get a Mitsubishi lamp and not a generic "bulb" which would require you to take the housing apart---generic bulbs have a much shorter life.

carefully slide the replacement in so the two pins on the rear connect correctly into the socket in the set where they go.

The thermal sensor is located on the lamp cartridge housing. here take a look at this link

Lamp did not turn on at P-ON sequence
(No Lamp inserted)
(Disconnected cable between ballast and lamp)
(Lamp-Enable goes to DM but not to Ballast) It's related to the lamp.

Lamp door senser maybe defective.

probably something related to the FMT board. will need shop service.

I'm assuming that you already have the housing out of the TV. If not remove the lamp cover panel (two phillips screws), Locate and unscrew the two chromed flat blade screws that hold the module in place and gently pull the housing out. Now locate the three locking tabs on the housing. There is a large one on the bulb face side, and two smaller ones on the mesh screen side near the handle end. Using a thin bladed screw driver, slide it under the curved edge next to each of the small tabs and gently pry up to pop the side cover off of the tabs. Rotate the back cover (three sided) so that the small tabs come clear of the rectangular holes in the cover. (It should pivot on the third tab). Now use the screw driver to gently pry the U shaped clip off and over the third tab. Once all three tabs have been released the back half should just slide back and off the front half. Reassembly is basically just sliding the back cover back on until the tabs lock into place. While the bulb is out blow all the dust out of all THREE screens (there is a small one next to the greyish metal plate).

Replace the bulb by removing all the internal screws necessary to release it from the housing, noting how everything goes back together, including which wire goes to which terminal (If your bulb does not come with new wires you'll have to swap them to the new bulb), and where the "UP" marking on the bulb goes. Drawing a picture or better yet taking a few pictures is a good idea. When installing the new bulb do not touch the bulb with your bare hands (use latex gloves). Supposedly the skin oils can cause the bulb to fail prematurely. Finally make sure that the wires do not touch the bulb and are as far away from it as possible after it is back together, if necessary open it back up and bend the wires to reposition them.

is it tha lamp cracked? are you using original lamp from mits? i founded people using aftermarket lamps with other specks this lamp is 150 watts ,this info its going to help.
if components on the Power board K9A20 and/or K9A21 are shorted. Also, R9A02 may be open. Possible side effects are a deformed lamp exhaust duct and damaged lamp. Replace PWB-POWER part # 934C228003 and if necessary, Lamp part # 915P049010, Lamp Exhaust Duct part # 642B155010, and/or Lamp Exhaust Duct Cover part # 642B156010 let me know if you need anything else
