Use DeBruce Polish, we use DeBruce Polish on all of our stainless steel. DeBruce Polish will remove the rust and pacify the surface. DeBruce Polish also works on glass cook tops. We get DeBruce Polish at debrucepolish.com.

Assuming that this is not stainless steel model, for that shouldnt be rusting. but that being said if you look closly at the underside of the facade surrounding hte dispensor youll see 2 little slits approx. an inch in from either side along the bottom, gently pry off with a screwdriver from theses points,( should twist off and lift up, to reinstall simply "hang " on top clips and snap back down into positon.

Zanussi SS fridge freezer not yet 2 years old, first freezer door started to rust on lower front edges and slightly on front panel - replaced no problem by local shop. That door is now rusting in same...

NO fun... Looks like you will need a new door again soon ~ no matter what.

I would buy a new door, BUT BEFORE installation... I would apply many coats of a decent clear lacquer paint first... apply on all of the bottom of the door and cover at least 10 inches up.

Also coat the bottom and inside of the door at least 6" up... the door sides too...

Be sure to allow each layer to dry thoroughly.

Use a 1" blue masking tape to keep your paint line straight and true. Lay the door down flat and face-up to do your work...

This measure should add years of service to your door... At the first sign of any rust ~ you know what to do.

As for Zanussi, I doubt if you could muster enough owners to pursue any legal actions... sorry.

Frig is very hot on the outside ban that meets the seal

That heat that you feel is part of the design of all refrigerators. Those heaters are there to keep water from condensing on the outside of the cabinet around the freezer door. Just like water condenses on a cup of Ice water. It will do the same on a refrigerator. If those small heaters were not there. The water would cause the paint to rust badly. There are various arrangements of heaters used on Freezers and refrigerators around the doors. Particularly the Freezer door.
As long as the fridge is cooling properly it is fine.
If the fridge fails to get cold, the outside of the cabinet will actually get quite hot.
Hope this helps,
Best, Mark

Rust ruining door at lower corners of ice/water dispenser.

when you dispense ice or water, you are allowing the drip tray to overfill and the water builds underneath the tray until the water reaches the point were it will leak down the front of the door. the water will rust the panel beyond repair. you will have to replace the whole door at this point. hope this helps.

The front load washer is less than 4 years old and has been leaking from the front door since we purchased it. Rust has appeared in front of the door and now has rust on the side due to leaks. I am afraid...

And so you should be. Anyone who continues to use an appliance around uncontained water is inviting electrocution..

I cant begin to fathom out Why??????????

How to get the icemaker overlay off the freezer door on modeled25rf

Slip a puddy knife or flat screw driver under the bottom edge and then twist and pull the trim out until it snaps free. There are two slots on the bottom that will easily accept a screw driver.

Rust on Jenn Air Refrigerator Door at Water Dispenser

You may end up respraying the door, but here goes.-

First mechanically remove as much of the rust as you can with an old screwdriver or similar scraper. Then use coarse emery cloth - 80 -120 grit untill all you're left with is shiny metal with rust pits.
You may need to go out further than you think - about 1" all round.

Then use a paint- on de-rusting fluid from vehicle products supplier. When all rust is black or dissapeared, use a zinc primer on all the bare metal. (this will stop it reacuring)

Then either spray the area with an "appliance white" aerosol or squirt it into the cap, and use a paintbrush.

If you are spraying it, open all house windows and doors, cut a mask from newspaper- then tape it to the fridge. Use blankets , plastic dustsheet or old sheets to protect things, and spray it from 12" in several very light coats.

When done, "polish" with T cut - which should remove the rust stain too.

Seal the area of the original leak with a white or clear silicone - and sort the original leak out.

If you polish the plastic with a silicone spray, water will tend to stay put rather than seep.
