HP 255 How do I setup bootable disk ? I have tried esc and seled internal cd-dvd room but it doesn't work

On the HP System, you'll need to press the escape key as the system is starting up, and then hit F9 to get to Boot Device Options. Once there, you can set the boot order. After you've set the boot order, you'll also need to make sure that you have bootable files in the device that you've selected as the first boot device.

For example, if you've set the first boot device as CD-ROM drive, and the second is the Hard Disk Drive, then you'll have to make sure that there's a bootable CD/DVD in the drive when you start the system. If no bootable files are found on the first boot device, it'll automatically check the next boot device, which is the Hard disk and start booting from the Hard disk.

I have a HP Pavilion Elite m 9357c that willnot boot up. The screen goes black and says Disk Boot Failure,Insert system Disk and press enter

If it happens that you are prompted by the following error message "DISK BOOT FAILURE INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER", "No system disk", it means that the computer did not find the operating system to start (boot).

Causes:

A diskette or CD has remained in the drive

Check out if any diskettes, CD-ROM or DVD-ROM are present in respective drives, remove them and restart your computer

The boot sequence is incorrect BIOS

Enter the BIOS setup of your computer and edit the boot (boot sequence) so that the computer starts primarily on drive C:
A new hard drive was installed

In the case that a new hard drive has been installed, this message is quite normal.
Just insert the correct CD to install the system (usually Windows), then restart, while making sure the CD-ROM is first in the defined in the BIOS setup as first boot sequence.
The hard drive is unplugged

Open the system unit and check that power cable of the hard drive is properly connected.
Corrupted system files

It may happens that some system files needed to boot the computer have been deleted /damaged or that the boot sector of the disc is damaged.

To determine this, start the computer with a system disk or CD-ROM installation of Windows (via the Recovery Console), and once started, type Dir C: to check if the contents of drive C: are accessible. If its ok then the problem comes from missing or damaged files, then you just have to run the command:

fdisk /mbr
sys c:

Note that before any restoration of the boot sector with the command fdisk / mbr, (supposing that there is a virus), it is recommended to use an antivirus running under DOS, such as
f-prot.

Damaged disk

If the hard disk or a partition is damaged:
If it detected in the BIOS setup, there is a chance that it is
not out of service.
If it is, try reinstalling the system through the installation CD, in order to reformat or recover the partition using a utility.

When attempting to start up computer monitor reads invalid system disk replace and restart

Hopefully you've got either a floppy or cd in the computer tray. Make sure it's empty then reboot. Also make sure you don't have any usb drives plugged in.

Let me know what happens.

Pls help to me.my compaq F700 laptop cant on.when i press on switch hearing one beep sound only.not bootable. How i solve the problem.

Hearing exactly ONE beep is "good" -- it signifies that the hardware is working correctly.

So, either the disk-drive itself is the problem,
or the installed copy of Windows has been corrupted, such that Windows cannot start/complete the boot-process.

HP G6000 Optical Disk Drive malfunction

It sounds like you have done just about everything. The only thing you might do is try a CD cleaning disc (which has fine bristles to clean the optic sensor). Other than that, you've been very thorough and probably should think about replacing the drive. Hope this helps, Best Regards, -md

Hi my hp g6000 wont boot it comes on fan runs hard drive and cd kick in but no screen then the laptop reboots and just does this loop

When your system begins to come alive, press Esc or F8 to get to a BIOS Menuscreen. In there, look for Boot. Move the CD/DVD option to the top so that your computer will look for a cd to boot from. Hit F10 to save and exit. Put a bootable CD in the drive and let your computer boot from it. Once it's up, look to see if you see your harrdrive C:. If not, the problem is probably the boot sector on your hardrive has gone bad. Look at this site (it's legit) for bootable CDs and other help.

DVD drive keeps on opening when starting

If the boot priority in the BIOS setup screen is set to thr CD it  will open the cd door every time you boot looking for the BOOT cd.    It will not accept anything else, at that point except a boot cd since it hasn't found the operating system (windows) yet.    By "blue laptop" you mean "blue screen" DO a "Windows restore" or reinstall windows from the reinstall cd or Harddrive partision containing the restore files.
