I live Honolulu Hawaii. When wifi connects a page comes up...Guest Access Belkin login. What is the password?

Obviously I shouldn't know the password. But it looks like the WiFi access point you're trying to connect has a external login page configured. Which require a user name & password. Although some system has free browsing option for guest. You should contact the administrator for your username & password.
Thank you

Trying to find a wap2 code to hook up xbox thru router. have no idea what I'm doing

If you can access router from pc/laptop, go into the wireless setup and go into security tab. here is where the code is located. Also check the bottom of the router. If you haven't changed the key, many routers have the key printed on the bottom of the router.
To access router, type in he ip address of router, if you don't know the ip address, follow this example.
START-PROGRAMS-ACCESSORIES-COMMAND PROMPT.
BLACK SCREEN WILL OPEN. Do nothing but type in ipconfig This will give you both the wireless and wired ip and the default gateway. You want to write down the default gateway. next type EXIT and the command prompt box will close.
Next open your browser (ie. Internet Explorer Firefox etc...) and type in only the default gateway ip address. example 192.168.0.1 there are no spaces and nothing added before the ip address. This will give you access to the routers access page. You may need a password to get into the router. Usually there is no username and the pw is admin. Then follow alone with what what written above.
Hope that helps.

I need a 1 800 # for belkin customer support please i need to add ports on my belkin wireless router for x box live

Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link.
http://192.168.15.1
or
http://192.168.2.1
or http://192.168.1.2
If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it.
Then it ask for user name and password.
Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank or "1234".
Then you can see configuration page of router.
Then click on NAT port forwarding then open port which you want to open.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

I cannot access the router web interface

Is there any computer connected to the router with the cable ?
If not then connect the computer to the router and check the IP address on the computer. The default gateway will be the IP address of your router.
Try to open the web interface of the router using this number. open the internet browser and type that number in the address bar. do not type www or http:// , just the number only.
it will ask you for the user name and password. try the default password of the router . if that doesn't work then the password must be changed . try some different password that you use most commonly.
If that is also not working then you will need to reset the router. If you reset the router then you will loose all the settings of the router and you will need to reconfigure the router.
If it is not asking you for the password , then on WINDOWS computer Go to START , go to RUN and in the run box type http://192.168.1.1 ( if the router IP address is 192.168.1.1 )

I'm trying to set up a new laptop to my belkin router

When you first setup a wireless router you need to connect the wireless router to the computer with a LAN cable.
Then you open a browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer and on the address bar you type the IP configuration address of the wireless router eg. for Belkin wireless router it is http://192.168.2.1
Enter the default login name and password.
You should change the password and you should setup WAP or WAP2 encryption (WAP2 is the strongest encryption) and change the SSID and turn off SSID broadcast.
For further wireless protection enable MAC address filtering. The MAC address of the wireless card is entered in the router MAC address filter table, which allows only the wireless card with this MAC address to connect to the router.
The wireless card on the computer needs to be configured with the wireless router's settings. The LAN cable can be removed and the computer communicates wirelessly with the router.

Wireless

Have you configured the Belkin wireless router?
You need to configure the Belkin using a 10baseT network cable first before you configure the wireless card.

To make your wireless router secure you need to use your browser and type in the Belkin IP configuration address.
Then you need to change the Admin password, change SSID and turn off SSID broadcast, setup the encryption (use WAP or WAP2 if your wireless card supports WAP) and for added protection use MAC address filtering.

How do you access your router from your PC?

Belkin Routers can be accessed by typing the following IP address in the address bar of Internet Explorer: I will give you two alternatives as off the top of my head I cannot remember!! When you have typed in your IP address for the Router, you will then be asked for a username & password. Try these: Router IP 192.168.2.1 USERNAME admin Password password If the password does not work try admin or just leave it blank If this is not the right IP try 192.168.1.1 and follow the same Username/Password as suggested above. Hope this works for you.
