Locate the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit. Press and hold the button on the remote while you press and immediately release the smart.learn button. Do this for each remote.
You have to first have your cars Homelink system learn your current remote (follow owners manual) THEN have the garage door opener learn the cars Homelink (push openers learn button then press the Homelink button you previously had learn your remote. Two learning steps required because the LiftMaster is a 'rolling code system'
If you have the correct remotes for your opener you can program them like this:
Locate the smart/learn button on the back of the motor unit. Press and hold the button on your remote while you press and immediately release the smart/learn button. Do this for each remote.
Here is a link that will give you the programming instructions for your model.
Use the model number from the motor unit, not the remote. I believe that Craftsman now goes under the Liftmaster name. http://www.garagedooropeners.us/helpgifs/maincode.html

You need to hold the lock button for 3 seconds. If the green LED in the wall control is blinking off and on the door is locked. If holding the button in for 3 seconds doesn't work you can try programming your remotes. This sometimes works. Press and hold the button on your remote while you press and immediately release the smart/learn button on the motor unit.
