Where can I find a splitter and guard for an older Sears 10" Table Saw?

After getting my contractor table saw (base model 36-451) out of storage, I noticed my splitter and guard was missing (go figure). I really wanted the kickback protection while cutting narrow parts, so after long time searching, I found the Delta 34-868 drop-down splitter. It did say it would fit my saw, but the screws were the wrong size. Watch the video to see how I overcame it and how it performs. I love it...

Since you are in Canada, you will need to go to http://www.sears.ca/content/specialty-services/parts-and-service. There you would create an account and login to search for the parts you need. The person at Sears Parts I chatted with strongly suggested that you call the Canadian Sears Parts Direct to place your order. The phone number is 800-361-6665. Normally Sears is pretty good with older part . But if they do not have any go to a saw repair shop and see what they can do for you

Use the first part of the model number to fid who the manufacture of the saw/ motor is. Example: 110.123456- 110 is Whilpool. Then cal the manufacture direct.

Try checking on sears . Consult your manual as well.

you should be able to order one from sears. another place to look is ebay. the round plastic thing is to mark with pencil the cut of the blade. put in your sliding miter Gage set at 90 deg. put a piece of wood on it, push forward and cut the wood then slide back and mark the wood position on the plastic. that's the point where your blade cuts

In general, there is a bolt on the outfeed side of the blade that has a washer and nut that tighten down onto the notch in the flat arm of the guard, which fits down through the slot in the blade throat plate.
You tighten it securely in place and gravity takes care of the rest.
Make sure you unplug the machine while working in there, please!
