Kenmore 80 series top load washer. In the permanent press mode the machine will stop when it moves to the rinse mode. I can manually move the time past the midpoint of the cycle it will run for a minute without draining and refilling. the spin cycle will not run. If I move the timer to the Ultra Clean cycle the rinse cycle will operate but I need to manually move the timer to the spin cycle to start it up again and finish. Thank you

So it will spin and drain when put in the spin cycle right? More than likely it is your timer if you have to keep manually setting. I would check on timer prices and go from there.

Kenmore Series 80 top loading washer that doesn't spin or agitate

Unplug machine, remove water pump and motor, behind the motor is a coupler, take broken parts to your local appliance parts store. Costs 16 bucks, replace the broken parts with new ones, reassemble machine. Never ever do a blanket/comforter in your machine again!!

Kenmore 80 Series - machine won't rinse or spin

Manually move the timer to the SPIN mode and turn it on.
If nothing happens, replace the lid switch.
With a model number I could be more specific.
