Describe your 7" G-Netbook

There may be many reasons for this. Please check the following things one by one.

1. If you have another known good laptop then try it with your wi-fi router. See if the wi-fi router is able to connect to the internet

2. If you don't have another laptop then use an ethernet cable (RJ45) cable to connect to the wi-fi router. See if this helps.

3. While connected with the wi-fi router see if you can access the router. open any internet browser and type 192.168.0.0. you should get the router page. If you don't get then you have to configure the router first.

4. Check the internet settings of your browser. There will be "internet options" or similar in the menu of your browser. Click that. In the GUI you will get "connections" tab. Click that and select the proper wi-fi setup.

I cant find thevdriver device to conect my phone by usb cable to uopload pictures help its a sylvania 7 inch netbook

I am not sure there is a way to directly connect a cellphone via USB cable to the Sylvania Netbook. If your cellphone phone can do e-mail you can send your pictures to yourself and save them on the Netbook.

A simpler solution maybe to hook your phone to your desktop/laptop and copy your pictures onto the desktop/laptop.

Then copy to a USB stick and put that in the SN usb port and copy it over. If you can put your mini-SD card from your cellphone into a full size SD adapter you may be able to copy it directly off the cellphone SD card.

NOTE! The SD card goes into the Sylvania Netbook "facedown" with the contacts on top.

Activesync does not appear to work on the Sylvania Netbook.

If you have to "update" your SN operating system you will lose all pictures that are not on either an external SD card or other external storage.

There is some discussion on the Yahoo Sylvania Netbook group on how to copy files to/from a desktop/laptop and the SN but it involves making a couple of registry changes to the SN and installing some other software on your desktop/laptop.

I got a new Sylvania netbook and for some reason it won't connect completely to the internet. We have an open network and sometimes it won't connect at all, but when it does, it won't let me open certain...

Maybe you hadn't fully set it up.

Try checking the following to see if any of these steps were missed.

On a "hooked up" computer, Google "digital gadgets.com". There find "Sylvania Products". Then click on "7 inch netbook support" and follow directions inputing to the 7" netbook as you go.

For item # 4, you find your "hot spot" name (on the 7" netbook) and click "connect".

For item # 5, you may have to call your Internet Service Provider (Charter, AT&T or whoever you pay for your internet) in order to get your "network keys" fill that in (on the 7" netbook) and then click "OK".

Next (on the 7" netbook) be sure you go to "Start", "Settings", "Control Panel", "Internet Options", "General" and complete "user agent (requires browser restart" by selecting:
"Default (same as windows XP)" or
"Same As Pocket PC" or
"Windows CE".

I selected "default" and was off and running.

Although this isn't a "lap-top" it is a really neat little machine and does a lot of stuff almost like one. It should be great for travel! It is a little slow and has small memory, but it's inexpensive and usb/sd ports are there. A regular universal mouse helps-just plug it into a USB port. I'm doing internet, movies, YouTube, word processing, etc like everything and I think a lot of people have way under-rated this fun little machine!

I have a sylvania notebook i want to change os how do i do that i have no cd rom do i use a usb flash windows ce is harable.

To the best of my knowledge, you cannot change the OS on that notebook as it is an embeded system. The Gsystem is burned into a chip on the mother board and the only way at present is to reprogram a like chip and solder it in place after de-soldering the old chip. Then you would have to buy another embeded system and learn to program an EEprom chip.
