SOURCE: My Coby MP-610 won't open coby media manager.

1. Did your unit comes with Coby Media Manager? THere are two versions of this unit, one comes with and one doesnt. You can usually tell, if your unit came with an Installation CD, then it doesnt use Coby Media Manager

2. To access CMM - Start > My Computer> Double click the removable disk drive that looks like a 'C' with a big red circle, follow prompts to open Coby Media Manager.

3. IF you somehow formatted or deleted it, you can download a new copy from here:

SOURCE: How do I add audiobooks from windows media player

Most audio books are Protected WMA files which this unit does not accept, you would have to convert your audio books to MP3 format for them to play properly on your MP300. Honestly, this unit isnt good for audio books as audio books break up into chapters, this unit has no sort order so your chapters would be out of order.

SOURCE: I had a Coby MP-610 (which died) installed on my

Instead of using the Coby Media Player, use Windows Media Player to store your songs and you can sync them from there. I bought a MP601-2G for my nephew and my Bro' in law's girlfriend tried to get/sync some songs for him and could'nt figure it out. They gave it back to me to figure out. I noticed that the Media manger was missing, they must of deleted it accidently or something else. Then I read an answer similiar to mine where the person didn't have the Media Manager and the solution was as I described. I made a new folder, named it and then used a website called beemp3.com to download songs. After I found the song downloaded it which sends it to the websites playlist. From there I right clicked the file, clicked copy and pasted it to windows media player where it says drag and drop to sync. IMPORTANT: HAVE WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER OPEN ALREADY AND MINIMIZE UNTIL YOUR READY TO DRAG AND DROP TO THE SECTION THAT SYNCS THE SONG TO THE COBY PLAYER. Make sure the coby player is connected to the computer.
It sounds complicated, but it's much easier than it sounds. Email me to let me know how it works out at [email protected]

What am I doing wrong with transferring audio files to the player and how can I transfer WMA audio files to the Coby MP-620 MP3 Player?

I know from reading the user manual that it is meant to play WMA
files but you may have to use the coby media manager to convert the files to mp3 or possibly to wma ( that the player can read )
I have similar problems with mp3 files that do not play in my car mp3 player .

I can not get the media manager for it to bring up music. Also, should I download a WMA for it to convert. Mine says on the packaging to download the Coby Media Manager but it came with no software. Not...

Coby Media Manager is embedded on the MP3 player. When the MP3 player is connected to your PC, that is all it will say is 'USB Connected'. To access the coby media manager, go to Start > Computer > It will be a 'Removable Disk' drive, double click it, inside of there will be a coby-mediamanager.exe file, this is the software, double click it to install it. It will put an ICON on your desktop, this software is what you use to sync music, photo or video to your MP3 player. If you need the Coby Media Manager - you can downlod from here: http://www.cobyusa.com/files/software/MP707_Media_Manager.zip

Removed coby meadia manager program from computer when plugging usb cord & coby mp3-600 back into computer. will not recognise devise as new & reload program

Media Manager is just the software that allows you to sync, the MP3 player should still show up as a Removable Disk drive under 'My Computer'. If not, check your connections, something should also appear on the MP3 player screen when connected to the computer.

Installation

If you have deleted the program from your computer, you should be able to plug the Coby player (TURNED OFF) to the computer and re-install it.

If Coby Manager program is no longer on the Coby player (If you re-formatted the player), you can get a copy of the MANAGER here:

CobyMedia Manager fix for MP822 (Windows XP/2000/Vista)

Don't let it throw you that it says it's for the MP822 - it also works great for the MP610

1. Install Coby Media Manager from download

2. Open Media Manager

3. Plug your COBY player (THAT IS TURNED OFF) into the USB port - it will show up in the "DEVICE" tab

Cant get removeable E:

what operating system are you running? Windows XP usually doesn't have this problem older windows operating systems sometimes won't autoinstall the removable media storage device.

if you are running windows XP do the following
go to START
then click CONTROL PANEL
now go to SYSTEM
next click on the HARDWARE tab
finally click DEVICE MANAGER

if there is an icon with a yellow question mark "?" click on it and see whats in it. It may not be able to assign proper drivers to recognize the removable media device.

If it says something along the lines of removable media device. Try to right click on it and uninstall.

Then plug your MP3 player back into your computer and see if it finds it afterwards.
