Actually, you can also rip your DVD from the DVD disc and then you can paly the movies at any time and any places freeky. If you want, you can find a DVD ripper to depend, here I recommend you leawo DVD Ripper, it is really good to use!

Becuase of this being a stand alone Blue-ray player and not a PC drive Blue-ray your really limited to internal bios that if messed with can break the whole player, so if you want region free you'll need to buy a new player. sorry but it is like asking how to make a japan region coded PS3 in to an all region, where it might have a very slight chance of working after everything has been Frankenstein-ed, you would need skills to enact someone dictation, and because of copyright laws if a modder or hacker was to post how to. They may suffer the fate of George Hotz. so put the blue-ray in your room, living room, or even on eBay and buy a region free blue-ray.

Hi and welcome to fixya! I am happy to tell you that all PS3 games are region free so you can use US games on your PS3 from spain. However, DVDs and Blue-ray movies are not so you will need to make sure that they match the region of your PS3 which is region 2.

I'm assuming you bought the DVD recorder in Asia as well. US DVDs are region 1 and won't play on a player/recorder from another region without alteration. (See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dvd_regions for a description of DVD regions). There's nothing as simple as a switch unfortunately.

You may be able to find a way of altering your recorder to play all regions (region-free) but you need to be careful when doing this. Here is one person's story of this going wrong with the same model JVC.

A safer alternative may be to buy another recorder in the USA.

the ps3 does have region coding regards to playing DVDs and there are no hacks for the same..

hi...please verify:

• your dvd disc region (must be region free or 1 - for USA)

• playing blue-ray MOVIES disc, to check a possible problem with your reader .

if the blue ray movie doesn't work, you have got a possible problem with your blue ray dvd reader .
then, take it to an assistance center for hardware repair ..

This may be a problem with your ps3 as they are region free. mine is from china and plays all british games fine and blu ray movies email sony @ [email protected]

At this time the region lock on ps3 only includes DVD and ps1-2 titles. Although some games will have the 80028F10 error. Most ps3 and blue ray will play without problems, my only suggestion being that if you are in the US, make sure you get a US ps3.

Hi sounds like its problem with lense you can buy a lense cleaner so give this a try first but make sure the ps3 is on something solid and not ontop of anything like dvd or cable box as this will cause it to overheat then it would need replacing so make sure its not on carpet or any other electrical source try the lense cleaner first but buy good quality one let me know how you get on ok
