Connect the player to the computer. When it asks what you want to do, click on "Open to view Folders" option. Then simply click and drag your music files from your computer or cd to the music file.
If this option doesn't pop up, then the player when connected to the computer should found under My Computer as an extra drive. From there you can find the music folder and transfer song files from your computer or from a music cd to the player.
