Put memory stick in camera and format it, this is the only way to fix some problem in memory stick. If that does not help, memory stick got hardware problem that is irreparable. Buy new memory stick then. Thanks.
Why do you need to format. If using on Sony products its ready to go no need to format. If needing formatting your PC will tell you so and will give you the option to do so by selecting yes to format and will do it for you.... Do not format unless prompet to do so
It's possible the memory card just needs to be formatted again. Formatting will clear off all data on the card however.
In order to format the card you will need the proper adapter to connect it to a pc. Once it is detected by the pc you can go to the drive in "My Computer" in XP (or "Computer" in Vista), right-click, and select "Format". This is all assuming that you have it connected to a Windows pc.
