Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.

Your F2 means that the temperature in the oven reached over 590 degrees Fahrenheit with the door unlocked or 930 degrees Fahrenheit with the door locked.

First you need to check the sensor, disconnect power, pull the range or oven out then take off the back cover. Once off you should see the two small wires that are from the sensor then you need to disconnect them (some have a plug but if you have to cut the wires).

Now using your ohmmeter , measure resistance between the wires going to the sensor. It should be somewhere between 1050 and 1150 ohms. Note that this test should be done while the oven is at room temperature. If the resistance is not within the range mentioned above, then replace the sensor. If resistance is within range, replace the control board.

F2 error is a bad temperature sensor in the oven.
It must be replaced.

You either have a bad control board or the touch pad has a button sticking and it needs the touch pad. The temperature sensor would not be a problem for this concern. I hope this helps.

GE oven, F2 message but fault is with broiler element staying on?

Hi there,

F2
Oven over temp - exceeded 590F with door in unlocked position or 990F with door locked - If actual temp condition occurred, look for welded relay contacts or high resistance connection or any cause in the oven temperature sensor circuit

F2
Note: Also see fan thermal switches - Indicates that oven is over temperature in one of the following modes within either a cooking or clean mode of operation.
· Control senses oven temperature above 650 degrees F with the door circuit in the unlock mode.
· Control senses oven temperature above 935 degrees F with the door in the locked mode.
· Stalled cooling fan or airflow problem.

· Look for welded relay contacts. (Heating elements on in off mode).
· Look for open thermal switch in lock motor circuit. Switch is normally closed and will open if area overheats due to fan not operating. Look for cause - fan thermal switch not closing, fan stalled, etc.
· Look for high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit due to high contact resistance (poor terminal crimp, deformed terminals, loose connection) or intermittent solder joint on control or intermittent oven temperature sensor.

Good Luck

F2 code

F-2 error for jenn-air means the oven is to hot, it could be the oven temperature sensor is faulty, or the relay board.

F2 error

an f2 code means the oven overheated.it could be a bad relay on the control board. also if you ran a self clean cycle and left the racks in the oven,i've heard it could cause problems with the oven sensor.
and no you shouldn't have to leave the oven door open when you cook.hope it helps

F2 error code

Similar problem. When baking over 400 degrees we get the F2 code that can only be reset by cycling the power at the breaker. Replaced the electonics to no avail. I'm thinking its the cooling fan located between the oven and microwave (upper unit) it never comes on which may cause a separate temp switch to generate the F2... but I'm not a pro. :)
