Hi, Will forgo all the greetings. F7 is a stuck or shorted keypad. Try rapidly running / fanning your finger FLAT across the keypad to un-stick it. If this does not correct the problem you may be faced with either a keypad replacement or an electronic range control replacement.

What does F7 meanon my ge oven

Hello,

The F7 error code means that a button on the touch pad is bad,you can clear the error code by the pushing clear/cancel button if it doesn't reoccur all is well. If it returns (what i have heard from my customers is that it always reoccurs in the middle of the night when their fast asleep) the touch will need to be replaced

I hope this helps ,if it does please give me a 4 thumbs up rating

I keep getting an F7 error on my wall oven in the middle of baking. How do I fix this?

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error F7 on your oven means that the keypad is shorted or stuck and to resolve this issue you'll have to replace the Electronic Range control (ERC). Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

I have a kenmore wall oven that flashes f7 every time we try to use it. and it turns itself off right in the middle of cooking and starts flashing the f7. Help !!!!

Kenmore recommends this:

The display of your control is flashing "F" followed by a number or letter. Oven malfunction. Press the CLEAR/OFF pad. Let the oven cool for 1 hour and place the oven back into an oven operation. If the problem repeats, call for service. 1-800-4-My-Home.

If you state the model #, I can look up the owner's manual for you and give you the link. Let me know.

F7 Alarm

i thought f7 meant to replace the keypad that you had a stuck keypad. See if you can find your tech sheet in the control panel if it is a built in oven if it is a freestanding oven pull out the bottom drawer and look down there or on the back for the tech sheet . It will tell you for sure what the f7 means if you need a keypad call 877-262-1479 for parts and have model number.

Top oven doesn't heat.

We had this same problem in our lower oven and found the solution the night before Thanksgiving. With 26 people coming for dinner, I desperately need both ovens. (Turn off the breaker for the oven before you do this.)

My husband took the control panel off of the upper oven and found a wiring diagram. In the text, it said there was a manual reset for each oven in the access panel for each one. He opened the access panel for the lower oven and found the reset button in the middle of that area. He said it was a black circle with a red button in the middle. After reseting, we turned the breaker back on and everything works great!!

GE wall oven display say F7, Bake and alarm sounds

Hi,

F7 error code occures due to
A = Function pad button stuck or
B = Bad clock Unstick button or
Replace Electronic Range Control (ERC)

Replace the ERC there are ten screws 3 on each side and 4 on the control leave the hex screws alone all you need is a phillip screwdriver.
REMEMBER TO SHUT OFF THE POWER FIRST lift and fold out the control panel remove the ribbon cable and remove the four screws that hold the control board . replace control panel in reverse order.
Good Luck!!
Thanks

It's a common problem posted all over the internet. This solution works if you're willing to try it. Make sure you cut off power at the circuit breaker box in the garage.

Ge wall oven display says F7

Your problem is most likely caused by a short between sections of the ribbon cable between the touchpanel and the electronic control. The solution is to insert a slip of paper between the sections where it exits the touch panel. See the attached photo. If you have a metal touchpanel, insert slips of paper on either side of the ribbon cable as well. CAUTION: Be certain to turn off the power to the oven before you poke your fingers in and around the touchpanel. My solution has worked for hundreds of folks. Don't worry about the paper burning. If you have questions, contact me at [email protected].

F7 Alarm

Holly, the info I have on the F7 states that it might be a problem with the touch panel, shorted matrix or start key. Try unplugging the touch pad ribbon from the main board and cleaning the end with an eraser. See if the error returns after that. Catriver..post back.
